Jill’s husband, David Lemanowicz, is a former professional hockey player and U.S. Army Reserve officer. He was born on March 8, 1976 and hails from Vancouver, Canada. He completed his education at the University of Toronto. Later, he obtained a degree in Global Security at the University of Texas-Pan. David went on to pursue a career in ice hockey, and in 1995 he was drafted by the National Hockey League to play for the Florida Panthers.
From 1991 to 2008, David played for numerous leagues. Additionally, he took an interest in the military and even joined the U.S. Army Reserve for the US citizenship. He also worked at the Fort Lewis Military Camp in Tacoma. Later, David turned producer for his wife, Jill Wagner’s series, Lioness.

Jill Wagner and David Lemanowicz first met in North Carolina, and they started hanging out. Back then, they were just 17 years old. After going out on just a few dates, David moved to Canada, leaving Jill devastated. Years later, they met again in Afghanistan. In an episode of Hallmark’s Home & Family, Jill shared how destiny brought them closer. Sharing a glimpse into her love story, Jill said:
"God brought us together. He chose the right time. I snuck out of my dad’s window at home and went out at night, which I wasn’t supposed to. I snuck out and met him. Fell completely head over heels. We went out three times, and then I never heard from him again. I went to Afghanistan on a USO tour. He just happens to be on one of the 12 bases that we went to. But I was dating somebody, and he was dating somebody. So it was just like a quick, 'Wow, great to see you in this weird place in the world.'"
Three years after their meet-up in Afghanistan, the couple again crossed paths in Los Angeles. In the same episode, Jill shared that it happened again and again. Three months after their meet-up in Los Angeles, they got engaged. In 2017, the duo tied the knot. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Army Gray, in 2020, and second daughter, Daisy Roberta, in 2021. Speaking about the following, Jill said:
"We kind of knew at that point. We were like, 'Okay, there’s a reason this keeps happening.' And then three months after that, we were engaged and then quickly married, and moved from L.A. that same year and renovated this house, and then got pregnant. Everything happened so quickly, but it was the most incredible time. I still look back at that time and think, did that actually happen? It was a rom-com, and I’m gonna make that movie one day. I just have to find the right person to make it with. But it was truly incredible."
Over the years, Jill has built a close-knit family life with her husband, David Lemanowicz and her two daughters. In fact, Jill helped raise David's daughter from a previous relationship. In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Jill opened up about her decision to choose Tennessee farm life to raise her family. In her words:
"We looked in and around North Carolina – couldn't find anything. So, Tennessee – found a piece of property in Tennessee. I wanted to get married, and I wanted to have my babies in a place that I thought was magical and, since I was born and raised in the country, that was my idea of what was magical. So, we live there."
