Suparn Varma has a degree in journalism, and after entering the media world, he was drawn to writing. For Suparn, success did not come easily, as he had to give endless auditions, and many of his projects were shelved. Suparn is known for writing about real stories, and his work shows that he has mastered his craft to perfection. Suparn Varma's work as a director has always been outstanding and unique in nature. Suparn has kept his married life entirely private and has not revealed any details related to his wife. However, it was on September 15, 2016, when Suparn shared a collage with his son, Avan, where the father and son were seen having playful fun moments. The collage showcased three different pictures of baby Avan, right from his infancy stage. Suparn in the caption on X, formerly Twitter, wrote:
"The face of love. Darth Vader and young Luke Skywalker. Avan and I."
Netizens in the comments section called the snap of Suparn and Avan very cute. A user wrote, "So sweet, happiness. Happy birthday Avan." Another user wrote, "May god bless you with good health and prosperity and cutie pie..baby is soo cute." A user even called the picture as a 'masterpiece'.

Suparn Varma has never shared many details about his romantic life openly on social media. However, while stalking his X (formerly Twitter) account, one can see that on September 15, 2015, the writer and director announced to the world the arrival of his little bundle of joy. Suparn had written:

A user seeing the post commented, "@Suparn WOAH! Congratulations! Your life is about to change. Basically, you will never party again, but hey! congrats man. Yaay. congratulations!!! The emotions will continue to cascade for a long, long time!" Filmmaker, Vivek Agnihotri, had penned, "Oh boy, when? I had no idea… congrats!!!! Big and tight hug to the baby and to the mother. Let me open a champagne for the proud dad." A stunned fan even wrote, "What? You guys had a baby? How very lovely, dude. So, so happy for you both! Bahut mubarik dost!"

Suparn, who is a native of Mumbai, had started off his movie career by writing the action movie, Chhal, 2002, which was Hansal Mehta's award-winning film. It was in Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena (2005) that Suparn made his directorial debut. However, once during an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Suparn shared that at a point in his life, he was offered to direct a film by a godman who is in jail. In his words:
"I was offered a crazy insane amount of money in cash. I paused and thought for about a one-minute maximum and then said no. But, that minute was a strong one because the money was huge. I wouldn’t have taken the offer but, you still give it a thought because it’s a lot of money. Then in less than a minute, I thought that I am happy. I told my family that I didn’t take the offer up and they just said that’s good.”
For the unversed, Suparn Varma, with Raj & DK, co-directed The Family Man and was one of the key writers of the Manoj Bajpayee series. It was never easy for Suparn to surpass the first season, and when he co-directed and wrote Season 2 of The Family Man, he felt it was a personal victory. During an interview with the MidDay, Suparn shared:
"I am just glad we’ve been able to break the curse of the second season,” he starts off. I gave my 300%. I have known Raj and DK since the time they first came to the city. So when they were trusting me with their baby - a series this successful - I didn’t want to disappoint them."

Suparn Varma's second directorial project was Acid Factory, which featured the late Irrfan Khan and Manoj Bajpayee. After receiving success in feature movies, Suparn transitioned into TV and directed Yo Kya Hua Bro in 2017. He had written his first TV project named, Hasmukh, 2020 that had Vir Das.
