Garth Brooks fans rejoice! The legendary music icon just revealed that he is going to return to arenas, 30 years after his history-making run of shows back in the ‘90s. For those wondering, the tour is called the 'Blame It All On My Roots Tour'. The announcement has created a massive buzz on social media among his fans and has also brought his personal life back into focus. So, if you are curious to know about Garth Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood and their relationship, we have got you covered.

Who is Garth Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood?

For those unaware, Trisha Yearwood is Garth Brooks' second wife. He was previously married to Sandy Mahl from 1986 to 2001, with whom he shares three daughters.

During an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Garth revealed that he met Trisha in 1987 when he was still married to his first wife. They were reportedly introduced by a mutual friend, musician, Kent Blazy. Their first meeting took place in Kent’s attic studio, where they had gathered for a demo recording. At the time, the duo were still several years away from finding their respective music industry breakthroughs.

According to Trisha, they both hit it off immediately, but she “had no idea he would turn out to be Garth Brooks.” But since Garth was over a year into his marriage with Sandy Mahl, the encounter had left the singer feeling super confused. He said:

“It's strange because I felt that feeling like when you first meet your wife, but I've been married for 13 months…We had a lot more in common than I ever dreamed of.”

Trisha and Brooks initially went on to have a professional relationship. They not only collaborated over the years, but even won a Grammy together in 1998 for their song, In Another's Eyes. Garth revealed that he and Trisha began dating only after his divorce from Sandy. Recalling how he felt at the time, he said:

"Being married, it's gotta be right; this is who you went to college with. And you were married in front of god and your family and everything, and you keep hacking, and you work, and you work, and you work, and then comes that time where you're looking at the rest of your life wondering, how do I want to live it?"

Thankfully, Garth realised that he always enjoyed being around Trisha. He called her the real deal and said that he was very lucky. Later, Garth proposed to her onstage at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, California, in May 2005. They tied the knot later that same year in their Oklahoma home, surrounded by their family.

Their marriage led Trisha to become a stepmom to Garth’s daughters, Taylor, August, and Allie. While she initially struggled to find her footing as a stepparent, now, she cannot even imagine her life without the three. In a 2021 interview, Trisha claimed that it was a gift she had received from Garth and the girls of having them in her life that she didn't know she was missing.

Garth Brooks' 'Blame It All On My Roots Tour' announcement

A while ago, Garth Brooks took to his Instagram handle to post a video, taking his followers on an unexpected trip down memory lane. At one point, the singer laughed before asking, “How long has it been, old girl? 30 years, a little dusty. Maybe it's time we could put you back to work.”

The video eventually faded to black before the words, “The retro arena tour is coming. 1996 to 2026,” appeared on the screen. Later, it was revealed that the tour is called 'Blame It All On My Roots.'
