Riley Howlett is active in a completely different field
Riley Howlett’s LinkedIn profile has revealed that he has been the owner of Lonsdale Leather since May 2015. He studied graphic design and artistic composition at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Riley later enrolled at the fashion school, Polimoda, to study footwear design.
Riley then obtained an Associate’s Degree in Fashion and Apparel Design from San Diego Mesa College. His journey dates back to the time when he finished high school and began sewing to create his own skateboarding shoes. Although he joined the San Diego college, he dropped out to work for John Fluevog as a shoe designer at his factory in Peru.
A few years later, Riley Howlett discovered that the owner of Lonsdale, Phillip Flintoff, was planning to shut down the store in Vancouver in 2015. Riley was a frequent visitor to the place, and he decided to purchase the business. Howlett managed to do it by taking a loan from his parents. Riley once said in an interview that he witnessed the need for the business in various places and aimed to build and grow everything that Phillip had done so far.
Riley shifted the business to a new place and added new items, such as hardware, sewing machines, and more. He even brought premium goods that were not available for purchase at local spots and established a collection of dyes and leather supplies by collaborating with some European suppliers.
Riley slowly started organising workshops and concerts. He even purchased another manufacturing unit called Precision Patterns, which was also supposed to shut down in 2020. Notably, Precision Patterns is involved in custom clothing manufacturing and pattern making for various clients.

Although a representative for Emily Bett Rickards confirmed that she is married now, the actress is yet to share glimpses of the same on social media. Apart from this, Emily has also preferred to keep the details of the relationship away from the spotlight for now. Notably, Emily announced her engagement to Riley Howlett on Instagram with a lengthy caption on January 1, 2026.
Meanwhile, the glimpses of the wedding were shared by Emily’s friends on Instagram. This included Carina Adly MacKenzie, a well-known screenwriter, who attended the ceremony and added a picture where she was posing with Emily. Netflix social director, Jarett Wieselman, also posted some photos, followed by actress Ashley Sutton.
