Meera Chopra is a well-known name in the South Indian film industry. The actress stepped into the Hindi glitz and glam in 2016 with the Sharman Joshi-starrer film, 1920 London. While the actress has done numerous projects in the South, she could not bag many projects in Bollywood. However, Meera will be seen next in the Sandeep Singh directorial, Safed, which is set to release on December 29, 2023. The actress has her hands full with the promotional events for her upcoming film. In one of those events, Meera revealed her equation with her famous cousins, Priyanka and Parineeti Chopra.
On December 22, 2023, Meera Chopra and Sandeep Singh joined Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel to discuss their film, Safed, in detail. During their conversation, Meera shared that she has always had a distant relationship with her two cousins, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Parineeti Chopra. She said that it wouldn't be right to pretend to be close friends with them when in reality they are not. She further added:
“From the start, there was not much closeness between us that we would look like friends here. That would be fake. But I can say that when three or four girls join the industry, they help each other. That did not happen to me. I'm not the one that asks for help, and even they never offered any help.”

Meera Chopra further delved into the family dynamics of the Chopras. She divulged that she has a strong relationship with Priyanka Chopra’s family. Meera even attended PeeCee's wedding with Nick Jonas back in 2018. On the other hand, she disclosed that her bond with Parineeti Chopra is not as close due to family issues that have been longstanding. Meera clearly stated that she didn't attend Parineeti's wedding with Raghav Chadha in September 2023. Meera said:
“When families don’t talk, I don’t want to cross that line which would hurt my family. Parineeti ke saath kabhi family waali baat hi nahi thi. Priyanka ki family se main aaj bhi bohot close hoon... Priyanka has always been very generous, but ek jo sisterhood hota hein na... woh missing hai. Aur woh meri taraf se missing nahi hai. I have always extended that branch of love, but woh reciprocate bhi toh hona chahiye?"

In a recent interview with India Today, Meera Chopra shared her feelings about struggling in the film industry. She expressed that struggle has become the ultimate truth of her life, and she is tired of running behind people for work. She further disclosed her thoughts and said that she should be getting more opportunities to showcase her talent as an actor, but has only managed to work on four projects during nine years in the Hindi film industry.
During the same interview, Meera Chopra revealed her thoughts on her upcoming film and added that movies like Safed are important to her, as they provide her with the opportunity to demonstrate her acting chops. She further mentioned that she hoped people would start valuing talent over connections and relationships. Meera also expressed her frustration with the prevalence of non-actors headlining films due to their family connections. She feels that talent should be given priority and that this will only happen if audiences start appreciating and recognising true talent.
