43-Year-Old Matt Brown's Body Was Found From A River, His Brother Confirms, How Die He Actually Die?

Former Alaskan Bush People star, Matt Brown, passed away at the age of 43. The reports came days after his brother, Bear Brown, in an emotional video, informed his followers about his brother's mysterious disappearance.

Matt Brown's brother, in an earlier video, revealed that he suspected that his brother was not missing but actually dead, while suspecting a suicide attempt. For the unversed, Matt Brown had struggled with substance abuse and alcoholism. The suspicion came from police finding an unidentified man floating in Washington's Okanogan River. Well, on May 31, 2026, in a recent TikTok post, Bear Brown confirmed that his brother passed away.

Matt Brown's death has been confirmed by his brother, Bear Brown. What was the actual cause of his death?

Bear Brown recently dropped a TikTok Video, wherein he revealed that Matt Brown had died and his body was found in the Washington state river. Matt Brown's brother, Noah, helped the cops pull the body out of the river, and he identified his brother. Bear added that he believes that Matt passed away due to suicide, adding that the coroner still has to examine the body before revealing the official cause of death of Matt Brown. Bear mentioned it looked self-inflicted, but he never actually would have thought that his brother would have done something like this. He also talked about his brother's struggle with alcohol and drugs, while stating that he had some more issues going on, which he kept private. He said:

"They found a body in the river a few hours ago and it was positively identified as being Matt. “Noah helped them pull the body out of the water and Noah identified (Matt). “I would’ve never thought that Matt would hurt himself. It does look as though it was self-inflicted."

Bear Brown further requested people not to be negative on social media and to watch before writing anything and everything in the comment sections. Bear also shared how Matt also, in his last post, spoke about people being extremely negative towards him, and people should think about the other person on the opposite side of the screen, and consider them as a person too. The confirmation about Matt's passing came just hours after the Oregon authorities revealed that the search was suspended due to the bad river conditions. However, the search took place, and Matt was discovered, but the official cause of his death hasn't been revealed yet.

To add, the Okanogan County Sheriff’s office earlier revealed that they got a 911 call from someone who reported about a man sitting in the shallow area near the Okanogan River, and a sound being heard, following which a man was found with his face down in the river. A firearm was discovered; however, initially, Matt Brown could not be identified or searched for due to the bad weather.

Reports have been there that Matt Brown had been shunned by his family, a claim that was dismissed by Bear Brown, who said that it was Matt who didn't want to do anything with the family. Bear also added that Matt had been going through a difficult breakup. Nothing about Matt's personal life or his ex is known, as of now. Matt Brown raised concerns when he was seen nude in a YouTube video. The actor reportedly appeared nude, and he was seen speaking incoherently and carrying a firearm.
