Well, ever since the web series, Matka King was released on Amazon Prime Video, fans have been unable to stop talking about how the show's characters are inspired by real-life figures. Well, the latest actor who is being talked about is Cyrus Sahukar, who plays the flamboyant role of 'Maqsood' in Matka King. There have been discussions on social media that Cyrus' character has been inspired by the late legendary actor and comedian, Mehmood.
For the unversed, fans of Matka King are already talking about the role of 'Brij Bhatti', the main protagonist of the series. There has already been a lot of speculation that his character is inspired by the real-life gambling king, Ratan Khatri, also known as the Matka King. However, all eyes are now on Cyrus Sahukar as reports emerge about him playing the role of 'Mehmood'.

According to a latest report by Bollywood Hungama, Matka King has a flamboyant character called 'Maqsood'. The character has come mainly into the limelight as it is being played by Cyrus Sahukar. The series, anyway, has sparked a lot of discussion about their roles and real-life counterparts. Well, the report mentioned that the biggest giveaway in the series is 'Maqsood's unmissable look. The report revealed that eagle-eyed netizens were quick to observe that 'Maqsood's neatly trimmed moustache, flamboyant attire, and exaggerated expressions. Parallelisms from Mehmood's movies, Padosan and Bombay To Goa. It is worth mentioning that Mehmood was one of Hindi cinema's most loved comic stars, who was known for his unique facial expressions in classic movies such as Bombay To Goa and Padosan.

Cyrus Sahukar's character, 'Maqsood' has intrigued fans as they have been kicked in with nostalgia. Cyrus' distinctive appearance, especially his character's pencil moustache, has evoked nostalgia among fans. For those who do not know what a pencil moustache is exactly? Mehmood's majority of the characters had him donning a thin, sharply trimmed moustache which has been widely called as the pencil moustache.

Well, in Matka King, Vijay Verma plays the role of 'Brij Bhatti', who is shown to be a poor man in the mission of creating the gambling game called 'Matka'. 'Brij's qismat strikes as he becomes very famous among the one's who are less fortunate. There have been many earlier discussions about Vijay's character being heavily inspired by 'Ratan Khatri', a well-known figure in the gambling world. The makers of Matka King have not confirmed if Cyrus' character has paid a direct homage to Indian cinema's veteran comedian, Mehmood. The actor and comedian reportedly had done more than 300 movies and was known for his unique comedy style. It was marked with tones of exaggeration, unpredictability along with high end energy.

It is interesting to note that in the narrative of Matka King, the character of 'Maqsood' is shown to have played a very important role in the life of 'Brij'. 'Brij' gives the poor a chance to win money and make it big, but he promises that there will be honesty throughout the system. For the unversed, 'Brij' is seen falling in love with a rich Parsi widow called 'Gulrukh' played by Kritika Kamra. She makes 'Brij' famous among the elite and the rich. One day, while partying with her, 'Brij' meets 'Maqsood' and they become very good friends. On the advice of 'Maqsood', 'Brij' is even seen investing money in the upcoming movie, Bharat Ka Beta. Well, by the time the film is about to premiere, 'Brij' is seen embroiled in a legal soup.

A report by the Hindustan Times earlier had mentioned that as the Matka King web series unfolds, there is an iconic scene shown during the premiere of 'Brij's film, Bharat Ka Beta. 'Brij' is seen backstage with the entire cast and crew of the movie. 'Maqsood' on the stage is seen calling the female lead of the movie, along with the villain and the producers of the movie. 'Brij' is waiting for his turn to get acknowledged for putting money into the movie. However, 'Maqsood' shocks the audience as he shows off his true colours. He does not call 'Brij' on the stage, who was his close friend. 'Brij' is seen being visibly upset, chooses not to watch the film, and the scene shows him smoking quietly in the theatre, gulping down the pain and the uncalled humiliation and betrayal by 'Maqsood'.
