In an interview with Cosmo, she explained, “We saw each other on a roof, and we just started talking and never stopped. We went on a series of walks throughout the city that summer.” 

According to Cosmopolitan, it was Margaret's older sister, Rainey, who played a significant part in the duo meeting. Apparently, at the time Rainey was recording at Electric Lady Studios, the same place where Jack works. Here, she heard rumours that Jack was looking for a “forever love.” Interestingly, when Jackal and Margaret met at the rooftop party later, she told him he needed to date her elder sister. Apparently, her words were a result of having too much to drink, she told Cosmo.

On August 14, 2021, paparazzi cameras caught Jack and Margaret kissing in Brooklyn, New York. The duo were also spotted having ice cream and being affectionate with each other. Soon, fans started to speculate that Jack and Margaret were dating.  

On October 7, 2021, the couple fueled the romance rumours further as the Daily Mail spotted them out and about in New York City, taking a casual stroll around Tribeca. They did not shy away from a little PDA and were spotted sharing a kiss. On March 12, 2022, Jack and Margaret decided to go public with their romance by attending the AFI Awards Luncheon together. The event was reportedly held at the Beverly Wilshire in Los Angeles. According to reports, Margaret was in France for the premiere of her film, Stars at Noon. In it, she stars alongside actor, Joe Alwyn. On May 31, 2022, a day after the source confirmed to People that Margaret and Jack were engaged for real, the actress made sure to confirm the news herself, although in a rather subtle manner. Taking to her Instagram handle, Margaret posted a series of three selfies with Jack. What quickly caught fans’ attention was that she showed off her ring while hugging Jack's neck from behind. She captioned the post, “Oh, I love him!” However, as per Cosmopolitan, Margaret has since deleted the post.

Just like Margaret is supportive of her boyfriend, Jack does the same for her when he gets the chance.
