In an interview with Aaj Tak to promote his upcoming film, Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, Manoj Bajpayee talked about his net worth. When the actor was told that several reports on the internet are claiming that he has a net worth of Rs. 170 crores, Manoj Bajpyee got shocked.

Revealing the truth behind such reports, Manoj shared how most of his films are low-budget, stating examples of Aligarh and Gali Guleiyan. However, he also added that he has enough money to live comfortably with his wife, Shabana Raza and their daughter, Ava Nayla. The actor said:
"Baap re baap! Aligarh aur Gali Guleiyan karke? Bilkul nahi hai par haan itna zaroor hai bhagwan ki daya se ki mera aur meri patni ka budhapa ache se guzar jayega aur meri beti set ho jayegi."
Further, in the same interview, Manoj Bajpayee also shared how he still lives in Lokhandwala and Andheri. The actor added that he isn’t a celebrity from plush areas like South Mumbai or Bandra. Not only this, Manoj also explained how even after so many years of being a part of the film industry, he has still managed a significant distance from it. The actor shared how he has been living on the edge of the showbiz world for some decades now. He said:
"Main south Mumbai ka nahi hoon, na Bandra ka hoon. Main abhi bhi Lokhandwala, Andheri mein rehta hun. Main hamesha kehta hoon ke main cinema, iss film industry ke beech mein nahi hun. Maine ye choose kiya tha ki main film industry ki boundary pe baitha hun. Ye mera chunav raha hai."
For the unversed, Manoj Bajpayee and Shabana Raza initially crossed paths at the premiere of the film Satya, where they developed a strong bond and quickly became dear friends. As their relationship progressed over the course of nearly eight years, they deepened their understanding of one another. Eventually, in April 2006, Manoj and Shabana decided to take their relationship to the next level and officially got married.
