Mannara Chopra rose to fame with her stint in Bigg Boss 17. The diva made her Bollywood debut with the movie, Zid. Even before her stint in Bigg Boss 17, Mannara made it to the headlines due to her 'kiss controversy'. For those who don't know, during the shoot of her Telugu film, Thiragabadara Saami, the diva was forcibly kissed on the cheeks by a Telugu director, AS Ravi Kumar. However, soon after that, Mannara gave a clarification and defended the director. However, she yet again reacted to that controversy while revealing what Salman Khan said about the same.
For those who don't know, when Salman Khan was introducing Mannara Chopra on the stage of Bigg Boss 17, he mentioned the same incident that sparked controversy around the diva. However, recalling the same, Mannara mentioned that she never knew that Salman's video of introducing her while stating the kiss controversy would go viral like this until she came out of the house and watched it. Talking more about the same, Mannara recalled that Salman Khan told her that she should never be bothered about such an event. The actress mentioned that for Salman, she's like a sister and a daughter. Mannara can be quoted as saying:
"Woh bohot bada hogaya. Maine toh aake dekha woh video bhi dala hua online, Salman sir wala. Mein bilkul opposite hoon apne real life ki personality se, joh aapne Bigg Boss mein dekhi hai. But yes, Salman sir said that you should not be bothered about such events. I never knew it will get viral like that. Mujhe ekdum laga ‘what was this?’. But it’s just that, for him I’m like a daughter, I’m like a sister. And yes, that’s all about it.”

It was August 30, 2023, when the video of Mannara getting kissed by the Teulugu director left the internet furious. Although, Mannara remained tight-lipped about the same for a couple of days, it was on September 5, 2023, when she finally spoke up about the incident. The Zid actress mentioned that the director had no bad intentions and he just got over-excited because of the then-upcoming film, Thiragabadara Saami. Talking more about the same, Mannara shared that not only the director but also her team members used to call her as they missed her way too much. The BB 17 2nd runner-up stated that her director only liked her work way too much, and the action of kissing her on the cheeks was just out of excitement.

In Bigg Boss 17, we saw Mannara and Munawar having an on-and-off kind of friendship. While they used to be seen fighting often, Mannara once claimed she liked Munawar, which she later denied and mentioned that he is just a friend and she has no romantic feelings for him. However, while being in Bigg Boss 17, Munawar Faruqui told Ankita Lokhande that Mannara Chopra kissed him on his cheeks during a Diwali party, but he didn't talk about it to anyone as he was concerned about Mannara's reputation.
However, after coming out of the BB 17 house, Mannara stated that Munawar was a good friend and mentioned him as a family. But after knowing about his claims of the diva kissing him, the latter asked for a public apology from the BB 17 winner if such a weird statement was at all true. For the unversed, Mannara ended up in the 3rd position in BB 17.
