Right from an early age, Manisha Rani’s life was full of struggles. It all started with her parents’ divorce that happened when she was in 5th standard. It was a heartbreaking moment for Manisha as she got separated from her mother. It was her father, Manoj Kumar, who won her custody and took care of his daughter. The doting father did everything for Manisha and always took good care of her. Manisha also has two brothers, Rohit and Raj, and a sister, Sharika Rani.
When Manisha Rani was in 12th standard, she wanted to participate in the dance reality show, Dance India Dance. However, when she discussed it with her father, he denied giving permission to her to go to the auditions. It was a painful moment for Manisha, as she was very much into dancing and wanted to be a professional dancer.
After some time, Manisha Rani again requested her father to allow her to go to Kolkata to pursue her dream of becoming a dancer and actress. Once again, the answer was ‘no’, and she decided to run away from her house. Manisha took the leap of faith and went to Kolkata, leaving a letter behind for her father in which she told him everything about her dream.
Manisha Rani travelled to Kolkata by train without a ticket. The young girl had no money and was scared throughout the journey. Luckily, she wasn’t caught by a ticket collector and reached Kolkata safely. However, after reaching Kolkata, she knew she had to do something to earn money in order to survive in the city. As a result, she started working as a waitress at weddings and events. After some time, she also got the opportunity to work as a background dancer, which she accepted immediately. Manisha was making Rs. 500 per day back then.
But after working for just 10 days, Manisha Rani decided to stop working as a background dancer as she wasn’t comfortable in it. However, the manager refused to let her go and locked her inside a room. But she didn’t panic and found a way out of the room, after which she immediately borrowed Rs. 500 from her friend and went straight back to Bihar.

Whatever happened in Kolkata was disheartening for Manisha Rani, but she continued pursuing her dream of becoming an actress. Hence, she decided to make short videos on the famous social media platform, TikTok. The actress used to showcase her dancing and acting skills through her videos. Courtesy of her acting and dancing talents, she started getting a lot of attention from people, and everything changed when she started getting offers to perform at renowned events and functions.
