You have been planning your wedding for not just days or months but years and the pandemic ruined every plan. Some cancelled, some postponed but for some, love did find its way and couples did get married in an intimate affair. Following the lockdown protocol and safety guidelines as per the Government of India, the couples are tying the knot in the new normal and the bride and groom along with the guests can be seen wearing face masks and frequently sanitising their hands. Despite the speed bump of the sudden outbreak of the virus, the #LockdownWaliShaadi has been trending in the wedding world. From the Hindi television industry, Sasural Simar Ka fame, Manish Raisinghan and his fiancee and Ek Shringaar-Swabhiman fame, Sangeita Chauhaan become the first couple to get married in the lockdown. Since the wedding plans of many couples have been put on hold, Manish and Sangeita had decided on an intimate Gurudwara wedding to become each other's forever. Manish and Sangeita had a virtual mehendi and sangeet celebrations with their close friends and family on a conference video call. Manish's close friend, Avika Gor was also a part of the celebrations.
Finally, on June 30, 2020, Manish Raisinghan and Sangeita Chauhaan became husband and wife after taking chaar laava (four pheras) at a Gurudwara in Andheri, Mumbai. While the groom has looked dapper in a baby pink coloured kurta teamed with a purple jacket and a matching face mask, the bride has looked beautiful in a pink coloured suit with chooda and kalire accentuating her bridal look. As Manish and Sangeita twinned in shades of pink for their wedding looks, their masked faces gave a glimpse of the new normal at the weddings. In an interview with the Spotboye, Manish Raisinghan had expressed his nervousness before he headed for the wedding venue. Revealing that it was unexpected and a shock for everyone, Manish had said, “I think everyone else is excited and I’m the only one who is nervous kyuki shaadi ho rahi hai. This was totally unexpected, this is a shock for everybody, I think we rather enjoy it than think about it. Speaking about his lockdown wedding with limited guests in the presence and how every function was done virtually, Manish Raisinghan had remarked, “There’s a different way because sab ke sab, jitney log nahi bhi kar paate the real wedding, wo sabne virtually sare functions attend kiya hai, from sangeet, mehendi to everything, shaddi mein sablog maujood rahenge aur waise bhi bohot greedy hai, toh ye shaadi ka maza toh hum le hi rahe hai aur hum real life shaadi bhi vapas karenge jab lockdown khul jaayega.”
A day before getting married, Manish Raisinghan had posted a note for his fiancee, Sangeita Chauhaan and had revealed their wedding hashtag. Manish had written, "Kabhi sapne mein bhi nahin socha tha yeh din dekhna padega shadi? Me? Hahaha But what to do... when someone charms you with her simplicity and genuineness you just surrender.... Thats what this lovely Lady @sangeitachauhaan is guilty of and she shall face the punishment of spending the rest of her life wid me. Sangeita Chauhaan too, had expressed her excitement of getting married to the love of her life, Manish Raisinghan and sharing an array of pictures, she had revealed how she had fallen in love with him.
