Actor, screenwriter, director and producer, Sreenivasan is one of the most renowned names in Malayalam cinema. Winner of two Kerala State Awards, Sreenivasan has written screenplays for some of the highest-grossing Malayalam films. His effortless performance and comic timings in movies like Vadakkunokkiyanthram, Ponmuttayidunna Tharavu, Azhakiya Ravanan and Chitram are still counted as iconic.
Sreenivasan's elder son, Vineeth Sreenivasan is also an acclaimed director, actor, lyricist, and playback singer. While his younger son, Dhyan Sreenivasan had also acted in a couple of movies. Both Vineeth and Dhyan have followed the footsteps of their veteran father by venturing into the world of cinema.

A few days back, Sreenivasan suffered a cardiac arrest and underwent immediate surgery. After he complained of chest pain, the actor was rushed to a private hospital and admitted to ICU, where a couple of tests were done. An angiogram test revealed that Sreenivasan was suffering from triple vessel disease, i.e., three blocks in blood vessels.
The actor underwent bypass surgery, however, when his oxygen levels dropped in the ICU, he was put on a ventilator. As per the latest reports, his condition is stable and he is responding well to the treatment.

Born in Kannur, Kerala, Sreenivasan had made his acting debut in 1976 with the film, Manimuzhakkam. The actor has majorly worked with superstar, Mohanlal and some of their iconic movies are Varavelpu, Gandhinagar 2nd Street and Nadodikkattu among others. On the work front, Sreenivasan was last seen in movies like Uriyadi and Mohan Kumar Fans.
