The couple had welcomed their little bundle of joy, Tara Jay Bhanushali on August 21, 2019. The beautiful couple wasn't new to the parenthood as they had adopted their caretaker's kids, Khushi and Rajveer before Tara's birth. Both Mahhi and Jay were on cloud nine when they had embraced parenthood, and since then, the two have been sharing glimpses of Tara through their respective Instagram handles. The popularity of Tara is already quite huge in comparison to other star kids of the television industry and her mother, Mahhi Vij talked about the possibilities of her becoming an actress in future in her recent interview. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, popular television actress, Mahhi Vij talked about the possibilities of her daughter, Tara Jay Bhanushali becoming an actress and working in Bollywood. While talking about the same, the actress spoke about her initial journey in the industry and honestly admitted that it'd be a little bit easier for her daughter. She said, "I come from a middle class, non-film background but had my father been in the industry, and it would have helped. If Tara (her daughter) joins the industry tomorrow, she would be at an advantage. But then everything depends on the audiences' acceptance. There are many star kids who are sitting at home. If having an advantage was enough, the industry would only have star kids."
In the same interview, the doting mommy also talked about the urgent need of going out for work with heavy precautions in coming weeks because the COVID-19 situation isn't getting better. She explained, "Till when can you sit at home and worry? This situation will take some more time to get over. If we don't put up a strong fight now, survival will get really difficult. So, I will consult a doctor and plan out things with Jay." The actress also clarified that she's ready to take a pay-cut for the people who can't and added, "Everybody is suffering. People like us who can afford the pay cut should agree so that those who can't, do not have to face the brunt. Once we get out of this time, we can earn money back. I'm not thinking about the money right now. My focus is on doing the right kind of work."
A couple of weeks ago, Mahhi had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared an adorable picture of Tara's first birthday celebration. Alongside it, she had written a beautiful note that could be read as "You were all the dreams we had ever wished for, you gave us the sun, moon and stars all together! My little, Tara, you truly are the star of your Mumma and Pappa's lives! We are blessed to be your parents." The adorable lovebirds, Jay and Mahhi had dreamt of having a baby girl as their first child. In an interview with the IANS, Jay had talked about becoming a father of a baby girl and had shared, "No relationship in the world can match the sanctity of a father-daughter relationship. I wish that my wife gives birth to a baby girl. I have no gender preference, and it is not that I won't like it if it's a boy. It's just that I have experienced the father-son connect with my dad, and now, I want to see how a daughter bonds with her dad."
