The strange relationship Madhampatty shared with Joy has often grabbed all the headlines. On July 31, 2026, Rangaraj shared a public statement as he acknowledged the stylist's son, Ragha, as his own. This happened after a paternity test was conducted in March 2026, which confirmed that Rangaraj is the biological father of Ragha. It confirmed the claims Joy raised in her legal battle with Rangaraj.
Now, in a post, Rangaraj publicly accepted Joy's son as his own for the first time. Not only this, he confirmed that he has been taking care of his parental duties for the past six months. Joy also shared her happiness in a long note on Instagram. She posted a photo of the father-son duo.
Along with it, she penned that this happened after months of tears, sleepless nights, and endless questions that only a mother could understand. She took a sigh of relief as her son received the name of her father and a public acknowledgement. She wrote:
"After months of tears, sleepless nights, endless questions, and a battle that only a mother could truly understand, every smile I gave the world hid a thousand tears. My son has finally received what every child deserves: his rightful identity and public acknowledgement."
Joy talked about how people saw headlines, opinions, and fans taking sides, but they never saw the pain of a mother who cried in silence. She talked about how she stood firm just because her son deserved to know the truth. She added that the fight wasn't about right or wrong. It was about what a child truly deserved: love, protection and acknowledgement. Joy wrote:
"This was never about winning against anyone. I never fought because I wanted to win.
I fought because I never wanted you #ragharangaraj to wake up one day questioning your worth. I wanted you to know, beyond every doubt, that you deserved love, respect, and your rightful place in this world. It was always about making sure that this little boy Ragha Rangaraj never had to grow up wondering who he was. Today, I have kept the promise I made to you."
Joy concluded the post by stating that she celebrates her son's identity and future and the peace he deserved. She added that after all the pain, her love has won, and she had kept the promise she made to her son.
The whole controversy
For the unversed, the controversy involving Rangaraj and Joy made headlines after she announced her marriage to him in July 2025. She further revealed that she was pregnant with his child. This left many wondering because as per public information, he was still married to his first wife, Shruthi. The couple also had two children, and in 2024, his first wife, Shruthi, had denied the divorce rumours.
The controversy further escalated after Joy claimed that Rangaraj married her while he was still legally married to Shruthi. Later, the matter went to the Women's Commission, and Joy claimed that the actor's first wife had known about their marriage. The situation turned sour after Joy claimed that Rangaraj forced her into multiple abortions.
Meanwhile, the Madras High Court scrutinised the legality of Joy and Rangaraj's marriage, as she was also not divorced from JJ Fredrick, as per her claims that she married Rangaraj in 2023.
