Amid Maddox Dropping Brad Pitt's Last Name, Actor's Son Publicly Slams Him? 'Awful Human'

Angelina Joli and Brad Pitt have been embroiled in a highly-publicised legal suit for a while now. It is mainly about the share of properties following their divorce, which was finalised in December 2024. The actors are mainly fighting over the division of assets, including the ownership of a winery following their split. Recently, the controversy around the former couple's messy split heightened as their eldest son, Maddox filed legal documents to officially drop "Pitt" from his surname. He requested to change his legal name to Maddox Chivan Jolie. The issue brought to light Brad's strained relationship with his kids, stemming from their numerous grievances against him.

Not just Maddox Jolie, his siblings also hold certain grudges against their father, Brad Pitt. They made it very clear that they are by their mother, Angelina Jolie's side in her legal fight against the F1: The Movie star. Before Maddox, his siblings Zahara, Vivienne and Shiloh Nouvel also dropped the 'Pitt' surname. A few years before the name-dropping controversy, the former couple's adopted son, Pax Jolie-Pitt, publicly shared his grievances against his dad. In 2020, Pax took to his social media to criticise Brad, alleging that he made his family's life miserable. As per Pax, his father was an "awful human being", who made his close people's life a living hell. He mentioned:

"You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell...The truth will come to light some day. So Happy Father's Day, you f*****g awful human being. You time and time and again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person."

Pax called Brad Pitt a "terrible and despicable person" who lacked empathy. He accused the Mr. & Mrs. Smith actor of unacceptable behaviour towards his youngest children, which allegedly made them shake in fear. Pax further hinted that Brad will never have any realisation regarding what he did wrong and regret his life choices. Pax posted the statement on the Story of his private Instagram account, according to the Daily Mail. Theough it, he poured out his resentment towards his father, blaming him for causing irreparable damage to him and his siblings. Pax Jolie-Pitt was quoted as stating:

"You have no consideration or empathy toward your four youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence. You will never understand the damage you have done to my family because you're incapable of doing so."

According to reports from Us Weekly and People Magazine, Pitt is "deeply hurt," "devastated," and "upset" to learn that his children no longer want to be associated with his name. Sources noted that the constant public reminders that he has lost his children are extremely difficult for him to face. While the actor has not made any public statements himself, the reports from close sources included details about his severe emotional distress over the growing estrangement with his children. Insiders reveal that Brad's biggest fear is being permanently cut off from his kids.
