Cancer is the most dreaded word that had ruined many lives and families. And the entire was in shock when Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt had shared that he is taking a sabbatical from work for a short period of time due to health reasons. Later, the reports were rife that Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with lung cancer. Now, the actor has issued a statement that he has defeated the disease and fans are celebrating his victory. On the birthday of his twins, Shahraan and Iqra, Sanjay had released the official statement and had shared that he had defeated cancer. His statement could be read as "The last few weeks were very difficult time for my family and me. But like they say, God gives the hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. And today, on the occasion of my kids’ birthday, I am happy to come out victorious from this battle and be able to give them the best gift I can- the health and well being of our family. This wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering faith and support from all of you. I am eternally grateful to my family, friends and all the fans who have stood by me and been my source of strength through this trying time. Thank you for the love, kindness and the countless blessings that you have sent my way."
On October 21, 2020, Maanayata Dutt took to her Instagram handle and shared pictures from her kids' 10th birthday celebrations. In the pictures, which she shared on IG stories, we can see Maanayata twinning with her kids in yellow. In one of the picture, we can see her son, Shahraan blowing the candles while Maanayata held her daughter in her arms. Last year, the doting daddy, Sanjay Dutt had shared a lovely note for his kids on their ninth birthday. The actor had posted a monochrome picture with his twins and had written, "There's no greater joy for me than spending time with my precious, Shahraan & Iqra. I love you both. Happy birthday. #ProudDad" in the caption.
Prior to reports of Sanjay Dutt being diagnosed with cancer, the actor was admitted to Lilavati Hospital, after he had complained of breathlessness. The actor had taken to his Twitter handle and had tweeted about his health, "Just wanted to assure everyone that I'm doing well. I'm currently under medical observation & my COVID-19 report is negative. With the help & care of the doctors, nurses & staff at Lilavati hospital, I should be home in a day or two."
