Lucas Trejo And His Wife's Engagement Pic Surfaces Amid Her And Their Kids' Deaths, 'Thank You God'

Argentine footballer, Lucas Trejo, is navigating a really difficult phase in his personal life. As many might be aware, Venezuela was recently hit with some devastating earthquakes, claiming the lives of many. Among the victims were Lucas' wife and two kids. Reports suggest that when the earthquake happened, Lucas was preparing for one of his upcoming matches with his club, Maritimo, in Caracas. Amid the unfortunate news, a picture of Lucas Trejo and his wife from their engagement has surfaced.

The deaths of Lucas Trejo's wife and their kids are currently putting a lot of focus on the footballer's private life. While it is not publicly known when he and his wife, Yani Maranella, tied the knot, a picture supposedly taken on the day of their engagement has surfaced. It is worth noting that the picture in question was posted by Yani on her Instagram account and is not available on Lucas' page. Yani has a public account with a modest 5,123 followers. 

In the snap, Lucas and Yani can be seen posing together on the deck of what appears to be a yacht. Both of them were dressed up in casual attire, with the footballer wearing a blue shirt and jean shorts. He had one arm wrapped around his wife's shoulder. On the other hand, Yani wore a grey cropped top and light-washed ripped jeans. The duo were all smiles in the snap and looked like the most picture-perfect couple. Well, even though Lucas was not seen proposing in the picture, what gave away the fact that it might have been taken on their engagement was his wife's caption. Alongside a date and a wedding ring emoji, she penned:

“23/12. ‘I can only say thank you God' for a life walked together. I love you @lucastrejo_lt.”

It was just days before the deaths of Lucas Trejo's wife and their kids that the Argentine defender posted his family on his Instagram page. The post was dedicated to his wife, Yani Maranella, for her birthday. The duo were seen celebrating the day at a fancy cafe or restaurant in Venezuela. The first picture on the carousel showed Lucas and Yani sitting close together on a sofa with the former’s arm around her shoulder. Their kids joined them on the sofa in the second picture, and together they looked like a really happy family. In one of the videos from the same post, Yani can be seen singing and clapping before blowing out the candles on her birthday cake. 

Other pictures from the post featured Yani and Lucas' selfies, while the rest included their children. In addition to the photos, what caught our eyes the most was the caption where Lucas penned the most heartfelt note for his wife. He called her a “blessing” for him and his kids and wrote:

“Happy birthday my love!!! May God richly bless your life and continue to fulfil the desires of your heart. It is a blessing for us as a family to have you and to move forward in the purpose we have together! With you everything is easier and more beautiful always. Have the best year of your life (so far) and let's keep our eyes and hearts on Jesus that big surprises are coming your way. I love you yesterday, today and always!”

More about the deaths of Lucas Trejo's wife, Yani and their kids 

If reports are believed to be true, Lucas Trejo's wife and children were found after 74 hours of intense search efforts. Several rescuers and volunteers had joined the search, and they were ultimately found at La Guaira after the 7.5 magnitude earthquake that hit Venezuela. By the time help arrived for Yani and the kids, they had already passed away.
