Olivia “Livvy” Dunne is known across the U.S. as one of the biggest college sports stars and one of the highest-paid female athletes in the NIL era. But behind her fast rise is someone working quietly every day, her older sister, Julz Dunne. From handling brand deals to managing content and tough moments, Julz has played a key role in building Livvy’s image. In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, she shared how their journey started, how a viral moment led to panic, and how a simple family setup turned into a strong business.
Julz Dunne calls herself a professional older sister, but her role is much bigger than that. She handles brand deals, plans content, and helps protect the image built around Olivia Dunne. What stands out in their journey is that they did not start with a big business plan. Julz explained that they built everything step by step because they enjoyed creating content, and over time, the business naturally grew around it. They grew up in Hillsdale, New Jersey, in a sports-loving home. Livvy focused on gymnastics from a young age, while Julz played softball. Even though they followed different paths, their bond stayed strong.

Julz often travelled with her family to watch Livvy compete, including her time at Louisiana State University. Things changed during the COVID-19 pandemic. With gyms closed, they started working more seriously on social media. Julz helped plan posts, shoot videos, and track growth across platforms like TikTok and Instagram. By the time Livvy joined LSU, she had already become one of the most-followed college athletes. At that time, NCAA rules did not allow athletes to earn money from their name or image.

Brands reached out, but Livvy could not accept deals. When NIL rules changed in 2021, the sisters were ready. They had already built a strong audience. Still, it was not always smooth. Julz said they had to learn by trial and error, especially when balancing school, sports, and brand work. They also had to learn when to say no to deals that did not fit. Today, their team is small. It includes family members, a few agents, and a lawyer. They call it their “family business,” even though it now handles major partnerships, including links to brands like NoBull backed by Tom Brady.

One moment that showed how fast things can change came during a baseball game. Cameras caught, Livvy with her arms raised, and the clip quickly went viral online. Julz remembered what happened right after. She said she instantly grabbed her phone and started calling Livvy again and again, asking her to put her arms down as soon as possible. The clip gained millions of views in just one day. Instead of ignoring it, the sisters used it smartly. Soon after, they secured a deal with a deodorant brand, turning an awkward moment into a business move.

Julz also shared how Livvy met her boyfriend, Paul Skenes. There had been talk online that their relationship was planned for publicity, but she said it was simple and natural. “They met through friends before the season. At the end of the day, they’re just Liv and Paul,” Julz expressed. Even with the relationship in public view, Julz makes sure Livvy’s identity stays separate. She does not want her sister to be known only as someone’s girlfriend. Instead, the focus stays on her career, which now includes an interest in acting projects after college.

Another important part of their work is helping others. Livvy started the “Livvy Fund” at LSU to support female athletes who may not get big brand deals. Julz helps manage it, guiding younger athletes through NIL opportunities. The sisters are now expanding into new areas, including entertainment. Julz is involved in managing Livvy’s next steps as she explores acting roles, showing that their journey is still growing.
