Brooke revealed that her relationship with the legendary WWE star was permanently strained after he slept with her former best friend, Christiane Plante. In a recent interview, Brooke opened up about the betrayal, anger, and sadness she felt at the time.
Following that, Brooke's mother and Hulk's ex-wife, Linda Hogan refuted the affair story. Notably, Linda previously shared in her book that she "felt good" knowing her prediction was right and that she made the right decision to leave him. She even talked about the affair publicly during a poignant interview, sharing the emotional toll it took on her.
Linda Hogan thought Hulk Hogan found her unattractive and thus resorted to an affair
Linda Hogan filed for a divorce from Hulk Hogan in 2007, and it was finalized in July 2009. The next month, she appeared for an interview with Good Morning America and made emotional statements about how she questioned herself when she learned about Hulk's affair with her daughter Brooke's former best friend, Christiane Plante.
Linda suspected Hulk might be seeing someone else while they were estranged, but when it came true, she couldn't help feeling "really sad" about it. She considered the possibility that she was the reason for their split. She even thought that her ex-husband might have found her to be a "fat" and "dumb housewife", which led him to be drawn to a young girl like Christiane. Opening up about her self-doubts, Linda mentioned:
"There were infidelities. It scared me because I thought, 'Oh my God, is that my fault? Is he moving on? Am I just a dumb housewife? Am I too fat, am I too dumb?' You just start doubting yourself, and that was really sad."
At that time, Hulk didn't publicly address Linda's concerns but admitted to the affair with their daughter's former best friend. However, he tried to justify the infidelity by saying that his marriage to his wife was "irrevocably broken and over" at the time. Notably, back then the ex-spouses were just estranged at the time- divorce papers hadn't been filed yet, so they were still legally married. Speaking about their lost feelings for each other, Linda stated:
"We all worked really hard and way too much to the point where we really didn't have any emotion left. We were just robots functioning on a weird level."

Hulk and Linda Hogan's daughter, Brooke Hogan has been estranged from her father since she discovered he and her former best friend, Christiane Plante, got involved in a physical relationship. In an interview with Us Weekly, published on September 24, 2026, the 38-year-old musician called the incident a "major turning point" in her relationship with her father. Linda took to the comments of the post about the interview and refuted her daughter's statements about Hulk's affair.
Linda wrote, "I was there and no he didn't." Brooke was not going to let it go, and a day later, on September 25, 2026, she exclusively told Us Weekly that her mom needed "help" for trying to defend a man who cheated on her. Linda's daughter said that while she loves her mom, that doesn't give her a free pass to "keep bullying" her. Brooke hopes her mother heals from whatever she's going through and finally comes to terms with what Hulk did to her.
