Lily Allen recently sat down for an interview and mentioned that David Harbour's response to her album, West End Girl, was "generous" and "thoughtful." A few months ago, when the Stranger Things actor was asked about Lily's album, he admitted that it was unusual for him to see a deeply personal chapter of his life turned into music. But he also defended Lily and mentioned that she had the right to tell her story in her own way. Sharing her thoughts, Lily said:
"I think that was a generous thing for him to say. He's having a real moment of success as well, right? He's been nominated for an Emmy, and it's great. We're all doing our own thing, and we're all doing what we're supposed to do. If there's one thing I know about David Harbour, it's that he's an excellent actor."
David stated that he believes artists should be free to use their personal experiences as creative material, even when they involve other people. So, instead of calling out the singer or disputing the album, he showed respect for Lily's artistic process.
Initially, fans expected him to have a defensive reaction towards the album, but he had a more restrained response. However, he did mention that some parts of the album did not fully align with his recollection of events. Still, he avoided engaging in a back-and-forth debate.
