It was Puri's daughter, Pavithra, who had taken to her Instagram Story to remember her beloved grandmother. Puri Jagannadh does not seem to be in a condition to speak about his beloved mother.

Puri Jagannadh's daughter, Pavithra, took to her social media handle to remember her beloved grandmother. She had penned an emotional note on social media and remembered her grandmother. Fans and members of the film fraternity were touched by the post. The director's daughter, Pavithra, had expressed her sadness with a touching note that clicked with fans.
She had written, "Who will call me 'Chinnathalli' now? Who will kiss me so lovingly? I wish I could spend just one more day with you. I would give you the biggest hug, just like I did on your 96th birthday. I miss you, Grandma."

Puri is in a devastated condition after the demise of his Ammaji. The Jagannadh family has not yet revealed the exact cause behind Ammaji's death. Puri's fans and well-wishers have been sharing tributes for his mother. The director has made a lot of contributions to Telugu cinema over the years

Puri's mom, Ammaji, once in an interview with NTV Telugu had revealed that after her son had become a director, he had trusted a boy who cheated him of Rs. 80 crores. Ammaji recalled how a film had cost the director a huge loss, and the full family had to sleep on the road.
According to social media reports, Puri had sold off five houses he had purchased. The director knew who had cheated on him with the money, and reportedly it was one of his friends. Puri, according to Ammaji, was threatened by his friend to keep his mouth shut; else his legs would be broken. The family was pressurised, and Puri, in the future, continued to help the needy and never said no to those who wanted help.
Speaking about Puri Jagannadh, he is now an inspiration to many directors and was guided by Ram Gopal Varma. Puri's movie, Double ismart with Ram Pothineni was a hit. His mom's comments related to the hardships faced by her son have gone viral. Puri's mom always was vocal about the hardships her son had gone through. She had earlier revealed how, after finishing his education, Puri used to roam around offices and was crazy about movies since class seven.

He has been one of the most famous Telugu cinema's stars and has been known for films such as Badri, Itlu Sravani Subramanyam, Idiot, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Shivamani, Pokiri, Desamuduru, Businessman and Temper. Puri's movies have got a mixed response, but iSmart Shankar has been one of his biggest successful movies in recent times.
