Indeed, a candid confession by his wife, Savannah James, about her teenage dating phase has surprised fans, reminding them how she was once just another messy teenager trying to sort things out. 

Savannah James opens up about her life before dating LeBron

Savannah James sat down for a conversation on the podcast, Everybody's Crazy, and surprised listeners with a refreshingly honest throwback. She recalled having many boyfriends during her teenage years, around 14. She added that she also had guy friends and was trying to understand herself more, just like any teenager. The sincere and lighthearted confession quickly went viral, with fans praising her for the raw honesty and relatability. In her words:

"I had all the boyfriends at 14. I had boyfriends and I also had boyfriends that were friends… It was raggedy and janky. It's okay. I was 14. I was learning by myself." 

Savannah's confession gave fans a rare glimpse into who she was before life. She became a part of LeBron's life. She recalled that she was also trying to deal with teenage emotions, figuring herself out, and went through the typical messy learning curve of adolescence. The relatable anecdote connected with many listeners. At the same time, it highlighted how her life took a different turn when she met the future NBA legend in Akron, Ohio.

Savannah and LeBron James' teenage love story 

Savannah and LeBron James' love story began in 2002, when Savannah, then a 16-year-old cheerleader at Buchtel High School, met LeBron. He was a student-athlete at the rival school, St. Vincent-St. Mary, during that phase. Savannah had earlier recalled how, when a mutual friend said he wanted her number, she famously replied, "I'll take his number." The bold move soon led to their first date at Outback Steakhouse, with a sweet moment where LeBron drove back just to return her forgotten leftovers. The simple gesture touched her heart and made her realize he was different.

However, things moved fast for them after Savannah got pregnant at 17 in 2004 with their son, Bronny James. During that same time, the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted LeBron No. 1 overall. But, irrespective of the pressure, spotlight, and uncertainty, they stayed together. LeBron has often said that becoming a young father enabled him to become a better person, since he grew up without a consistent father figure. Although they had already been living together, they did not rush to marry. LeBron eventually popped the question to Savannah on New Year's Eve in 2011, and they married in a star-studded ceremony in San Diego on September 14, 2013. They are now parents to three children, Bronny, Bryce, and Zhuri.
