Tragedy struck on November 1, 2026, when a private jet faced a terrible crash. The aircraft burst into flames immediately after nose-diving into a Palm Beach County neighborhood. It was carrying nine individuals, all of whom lost their lives, including 45-year-old tech CEO Adam Robinson, his wife, Helen Sharp, and their two young kids- 4-year-old Emma and 2-year-old Charlie.

The unfortunate incident sparked interest in the victims' lives and careers. Recently, details of Texas techie Adam Robinson's inspiring professional journey surfaced, leaving netizens feeling that a genuinely hard-working and talented individual left the world too soon. Amid that, his old 'guess I'm dead' post resurfaced, which was linked to his work, but seemed prophetic after his death in the tragic Florida crash.

Adam Robinson was a self-made man, all about the tech CEO's inspiring journey

Texas tech entrepreneur Adam Robinson career journey was nothing short of impressive. Before losing his life untimely at 45, he established himself as an admirable individual through his hard work and resilience. He appeared on Aakash Gupta's podcast in 2025 and shared details of his inspiring professional journey. Adam revealed that he left Wall Street to start a company and got stuck at the same revenue for four years before he finally cracked it.

What followed was a USD 22 million-a-year business, which he built without a dime from investors. Adam was a self-made man who took the risk of leaving his well-paying job and building something of his own from scratch. His first company was an email marketing tool called Robly. Before he built it, he scraped the internet for small businesses using Constant Contact and started reaching out to see who would switch.

That strategy got Robly to about USD 3 million a year, as shared by the podcaster. On how Adam spun out the business, Aakash stated:

"The magic trick came out of that stuck stretch. Back in November 2019, he launched it inside Robly under the name GetEmails. He sold Robly to private equity, eventually renamed the new product Retention.com, and four years after launch it was doing around USD 22M a year at 87 percent gross margins with a remarkably small team."

Adam Robinson's final aim, however, was to become an internet entrepreneur, as he felt the web was the future. "He went from almost no following to over 100K by posting his actual P&L," the podcaster recalled.

Adam Robinson's 'I guess I'm dead' post gets revisited after his tragic demise

Adam Robinson was well-known in the tech business sphere, particularly among people in Silicon Valley. After reports confirmed that it was he who passed away in the Florida crash, his colleagues and acquaintances revisited his social media updates, including his X (formerly Twitter) account. There, they found a tweet Adam posted in 2023 in which he jokingly talked about his death.

The comment was related to Adam's work life and was made in pure jest. However, his tragic demise, just two years later, made it feel almost prophetic. Adam wrote, "I guess I'm dead" in reply to a comment, which read, "If you're SAAS company isn't being built in Tel Aviv you're NGMI."

The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is currently investigating Adam Robinson and the other eight victims' deaths in a plane crash, with weather conditions, ice accumulation, and turbulence among the factors being examined.

Besides, Adam, his wife and kids, the remaining five who lost their lives in the fatal crash were the kids' nanny Anita Maria Cetina, Adam and Helen's friends, Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr, 55-year-old pilot Jeff Gregory, 20-year-old co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims' families as they cope with the loss.
