Matthew Perry passed away two years ago in October 2023 at the age of 54. The actor built a big fan base throughout his career for the roles that he portrayed on screen. Matthew Perry’s cause of death was revealed as acute effects of ketamine in an autopsy report in 2023. Meanwhile, his stepmother, Debbie Perry, is seeking the maximum sentence for Jasveen Sangha, a drug dealer, who reportedly supplied ketamine to Matthew before his demise. Keep reading to know more!

For the unversed, Jasveen Sangha has been described as the “Ketamine Queen” by the prosecutors. Matthew Perry’s stepmother, Debbie Perry, has now shared a victim impact statement with the court on April 7, 2026, requesting that the judge ensure that the maximum sentence is given to Jasveen. Debbie’s statement was also acquired by PEOPLE, which reads that the pain that Jasveen gave to a lot of people is irreversible. Debbie continued by saying:
“There is no joy… No light in the window. They won’t be back. You caused this… You who has talent for business enough to make money chose the one way that hurts people. Please give this heartless woman the maximum prison sentence so she won’t be able to hurt other families like ours.”

Jasveen Sangha has reportedly worked as a curator of art and events, and has previously shared snaps featuring her with popular faces like Charlie Sheen. She has dual citizenship for the US and the UK. Jasveen was taken into custody two years ago in August 2024.

Back in August 2025, a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice stated that Jasveen Sangha entered a plea deal, where she pleaded guilty to charges of maintaining a drug-involved premises and ketamine distribution, leading to death or injury. The U.S. Department of Justice stated that Matthew Perry’s acquaintance, Erik Fleming, reportedly brought 50 vials of ketamine from Jasveen. On the other hand, the prosecutors claimed that Erik also took drugs from Jasveen.

After taking drugs from Jasveen, Erik Fleming allegedly gave them to Kenneth Iwamasa, Matthew Perry’s assistant. Apart from drugs, Iwamasa also received the ketamine vials from Fleming. Kenneth, who has also been arrested in connection with Matthew’s death, admitted in an indictment that he reportedly injected Perry with ketamine. According to a plea agreement, Iwamasa injected three shots of Ketamine in October 2023, which allegedly led to Matthew’s death.

The press release from the Justice Department reads that Jasveen Sangha reportedly contacted Erik Fleming after Matthew Perry’s death to find a solution so that they could maintain a distance from the case. Notably, Jasveen and Erik deleted all the messages shared between them on Signal. Meanwhile, Jasveen’s sentencing is scheduled on April 8, 2026 (ET).
