Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleGreat things are happening around Lady Gaga's personal life. After longstanding speculations surrounding her love life, Page Six has recently confirmed that the singer and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, have welcomed their first child together. This marks a major milestone for the couple after years of keeping their relationship relatively private.
The new parents were recently spotted taking a stroll with their newborn in Northern California, although they have not revealed the baby’s name, sex or exact date of birth.
The news has also put renewed attention to Gaga's past romances, particularly her relationship with actor Taylor Kinney. Long before Polansky became her man, the singer was over the moon after the Chicago Fire star proposed to her. However, their seemingly perfect relationship eventually fell apart after nearly five years together.
Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney's romance began on a music video set
Gaga first met Kinney in 2011 while filming the music video for her song Yoü and I. In the video, the Vampire Diaries alum played her love interest, but little did they know, their on-screen chemistry would eventually turn into a real relationship.
Just like most of Gaga's romances, she and Kinney kept their relationship relatively private at the beginning. When their romance played out in public, they soon became one of the most talked-about celebrity pairs in Hollywood. Speaking about Kinney, Gaga described him as more than just a romantic partner. She called him her best friend and said they complemented each other’s 'weirdness.'

Over the years, Gaga and Kenny's relationship grew stronger, and on Valentine's Day 2015, Kinney got down on one knee with a heart-shaped diamond ring, and the singer immediately said yes. Gaga later showed off her heart-shaped engagement ring and publicly celebrated Kinney as the love of her life.
Speaking to Chicago Tribune in 2015, Kinney reflected on his proposal to the Poker Face singer. And as if the universe had conspired with him to make the proposal even more romantic. Kinney recalled:
"I just knew. It wasn't a lightbulb going off. It was in Manhattan. It was snowing, it was beautiful."
At the time, the relationship appeared to be heading toward marriage. Gaga even praised Kinney for supporting her career and standing beside her during some of the most emotional moments of her life. But the relationship gradually began to unravel.
What went wrong between Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney?
There was no single reason for the breakup. Gaga and Kenny's relationship grew strained due to their lifestyle, and they repeatedly pointed to distance, demanding schedules and the pressures of two ambitious careers. In her 2017 documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, she also shared that she and Kinney had been fighting more than usual before their split.
When the couple announced their split in July 2016, Gaga said they were taking a break and emphasized that both were ambitious artists trying to navigate long-distance and complicated schedules. She wrote in a post dated July 20, 2016 on Instagram:
"Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples, we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We're just like everybody else, and we really love each other."

Months later, Gaga spoke more openly about the emotional impact of the breakup. During a 2016 CBS Sunday Morning interview, she suggested that she sometimes felt her love was not being met with the same depth and commitment she was giving.
In her 2017 documentary, Gaga described her love life as having "imploded" and acknowledged how deeply the end of her relationship with Kinney affected her. Her 2016 hit song, Million Reasons, was also rumored to be about Kinney, but she later told Howard Stern that it was about "all the men in [her] life."
Despite the heartbreak, the split did not appear to turn into a lasting public feud. Kinney even sent Gaga flowers around her Super Bowl performance following their breakup, and their posts remain active on Gaga's social media.
Lady Gaga's growing family with Michael Polansky
Gaga later found love with businessman and entrepreneur Michael Polansky. They dating around late 2019 and went public with their romance in early 2020. Unlike some of Gaga’s previous high-profile relationships, their romance has largely stayed away from constant public attention.
In 2024, Polansky proposed to Gaga, and the singer publicly confirmed their engagement while attending the Paris Olympics. New reports say the pair may have quietly tied the knot after an alleged elopement. An insider recently told the Daily Mail that people close to the singer believe she and Polansky may have slipped away for a private wedding and honeymoon. The couple has yet to comment on the buzz.
Now, as a new mother, Lady Gaga is happier than ever. Married or not, her and Michael Polansky's new chapter has already begun!
