The Dubai-based businesswoman was well-connected to Bollywood. Despite that, she kept her family out of the spotlight, only occasionally posting pics with them. Kumod Raney referred to her son, Kabir Raney as the apple of her eye and her world in her Instagram posts about him. He was born on January 21, 2001 and is 25 years old as of June 2026. The Raney family was settled in Dubai, but by 2020, Kabir had left for New York for higher studies. Kumod often shared posts detailing how much she missed him and was waiting to reunite with him. By 2023, he had graduated, but there's no information on whether he returned to Dubai or settled in New York for good. His private Instagram profile reads "nyc/dubai."

It is worth noting that, although Kumod maintained a private life, she had strong connections in the film industry, possibly due to her friendship with Salman Khan. Unlike most entrepreneurs, Kumod barely gave any interviews. She only used her IG handle to talk about her business.

Salman Khan, who attended Kumud Raney's 60th birthday bash a few months ago, was devastated by his close friend's death. A video of the actor showed him looking visibly emotional, almost in tears, after offering his last respects. Besides Salman, his brother, Sohail, and their mother arrived at Kumod's residence to pay their last respects. Among other attendees were Helen, Niravaan Khan, Arhaan Khan alongwith their families, and Chunky Pandey and his wife, Bhavna Pandey.

Salman Khan's association with Kumod Raney prompted netizens to search more about her. For those who don't know, Kumod Raney hailed from Mumbai, India. But while living in Dubai, she had a huge, luxurious salon called Reign Beauty Bar, which celebrated its 22nd anniversary this year. Talking about Kumod's Instagram feed, her penultimate post was with Salman Khan and Jaggi. It dated back to January 1, 2025, when the three of them celebrated the New Year at a bar-cum-restaurant. They smiled sweetly while posing for a snap, which became their last one together.
