Kristy Scott has not directly addressed the divorce beyond legal documents. But her subtle social media activity has not gone unnoticed. Several eagle-eyed followers pointed out subtle shifts in her content and tone since late 2025. However, the YSL post is more intentional and time-significant. It comes nearly a month after her divorce petition became public. Meanwhile, Desmond broke his silence on January 10, 2026, with an Instagram statement, apologising to his family and fans for the public nature of the situation. He acknowledged that he and Kristy were going through a tough time in 2025, and while he was about to convey his decision about separation, he "made choices" that he was not proud of.

She stated that the marriage was no longer sustainable and "insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities". Moreover, the influencer added that Desmond's alleged infidelity destroyed "any reasonable expectation of reconciliation." On the other hand, Kristy requested that the court restore her maiden name, Small, and asked that Desmond cover her legal fees and court costs.
