What happens in the film, Korean Kanakaraju and is it worth watching?
The Telugu horror-comedy film, Korean Kanakaraju, was released in theatres on August 7, 2026. The story revolves around 'Kanakaraju', a happy-go-lucky person from Anantapur village who falls for a girl, 'Chaitra'. She works at the Kia manufacturing plant in Penukonda. 'Kanakaraju's' everyday routine includes getting into small fights and spending time with his best friend, 'Kistappa'.

One day, something strange happens after 'Kanakaraju's' clash with his biggest enemy. He unexpectedly becomes possessed by the spirit of a Korean man who had died in a bizarre accident. From that moment, 'Kanakaraju's' life takes a funny and supernatural turn.
Satya’s comic timing is the major highlight of the film. In fact, the Indo-Korean horror-comedy idea incorporated in the first half is also praiseworthy. But the film as a whole failed to impress the critics and the audience. Giving an overview of the film, a cinephile wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
"The biggest strength of the film is #Satya. He completely steals the show with his comic timing and screen presence, delivering the biggest laughs. #VarunTej does well in his role, and his makeover suits the character. #RitikaNayak is charming and fits her role well. #Thaman’s music is decent and supports the film where needed. The film keeps you engaged till the climax, but that’s where it stumbles badly. The climax feels very convenient and unconvincing."
A user penned, "#KoreanKanakaraju My personal review: Good first half with comedy and mad action sequences. Second half is average while Satya comedy works and child artist comedy feels like forced laughter, and the interval was something new, but the Telugu audience finds it hard to accept!" We suggest you watch the film if you are a true fan of the horror comedy genre. In fact, it is a must-watch for the fans of Satya as he is the showstopper.
