NBA legend, Kobe Bryant needs no introduction. On January 26, 2020, Kobe, along with his daughter, Gianna, tragically passed away in a horrific helicopter plane crash. Recently, a rumour has been circulating on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that Vanessa will soon walk down the aisle again. Continue reading to know the truth behind the viral claim.
Recently, a rumour began circulating on X and quickly went viral, crossing over 2 million views. The rumour was all about Kobe Bryant’s widow, Vanessa Bryant. The post claimed that Vanessa has inherited 50 per cent of her late husband, Kobe’s wealth and is now set to remarry soon. The viral post can be read as, "Vanessa Bryant is set to remarry after inheriting a 50% share of Kobe Bryant's wealth, with the remaining 50% being shared among their three daughters."

According to a report by Forbes, Kobe’s net worth was USD 600 million at the time of his death. Even after the post has received widespread attention, there has been no real proof. In fact, Vanessa has also not made any comment on remarriage. It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that Vanessa has been targeted with baseless speculation. Earlier, in 2025, Vanessa was rumoured to be expecting a child with rumoured boyfriend, Jaylen Brown.

Shortly after the post claiming Vanessa was set to remarry gained momentum online, netizens flooded the comment section. A user wrote, "The Vanessa I know would never remarry lol. She loves her husband too much. And if she ever decides to remarry, she honestly tried fr." Another user commented, "It's been like… over 6 years now. If she got remarried after 6 months, I'd understand any kind of outrage but 6 years is a long time… gotta move on with life."

A third user wrote, "That's big news, losing Kobe was devastating, I am glad she's finding some happiness again. I hope the family stays solid through it all." A fourth user commented, "I'm so happy for her, I'm sure her deceased husband would have loved for her to eventually move on."

The viral claim about Vanessa Bryant got 50 per cent of her husband, Kobe’s net worth is partly true. When Kobe died without a will, the law in California decided how his money and assets would be shared. Under California law, as Kobe and Vanessa had children, the latter was entitled to one-half of Kobe’s assets, and the remaining half was distributed among his surviving children. In such a case, Kobe’s parents and siblings were not entitled to any portion of the estate.

Vanessa and Kobe crossed paths in 1999. At the time, Vanessa was 17, and Kobe was 22. The couple revealed their engagement on Vanessa’s 18th birthday. On April 18, 2001, the couple got married. The duo welcomed four daughters, Natalia, Gianna, Bianka and Capri. However, tragedy struck hard in 2020. After losing Kobe and their daughter, Gianna, Vanessa navigated the loss by focusing more on her remaining children. Speaking to People in 2021, Vanessa said:
"This pain is unimaginable [but] you just have to get up and push forward. Lying in bed crying isn’t going to change the fact that my family will never be the same again. But getting out of bed and pushing forward is going to make the day better for my girls and for me. So that’s what I do."
