As sex still remains to be The Taboo word in majority of the Indian societies, the risk of contracting STD in the later part of life remains very large. This is rather confusing because the research says that more than 60% of the affected people are in the age group of 19-25 years. So which of the above two cases will you like to be true for yourself? Or are you looking for ways to remain free of such sexually transmitted diseases?
The most common sexually transmitted diseases are Chlamydia, Genital Herpes, Gonorrhoea, hepatitis B, genital warts, syphilis etc. These affect the genitals and reproductive systems of the females and the genitals and various other parts of the male body that aid in reproduction. In various cases when the disease goes unnoticed during the preliminary stages, it can also result in death of the diseased person.
The common symptoms for most of the STDs include itching and irritation on the terminal parts of the body, warts and sores of the genitals and irregular discharge, erratic sexual behaviour, and eccentric behaviour during intercourse etc. There are certain instances when there are no symptoms for a particular STD. This proves to be more fatal for the health and well being of the affected person.
The reality is that there is no cure to the STDs. Vaccinations are not foolproof except for hepatitis B. So once someone has contracted the disease and relieved of it in the early stages, there is no guarantee that he or she will not contract it again. And there is no hard and fast rule that at a time only one STD can affect a person. Yes, you got it right! It is deadlier than you can probably think of.
The ultimate way to prevent it from happening: total abstinence. No sexual indulgence whatsoever. Is it too outrageous notion? If it is, than the only other option are highly protected amorous activities, preferably with only one partner and strictly monogamous behaviour. Don’t ruin your healthy life and well being for something as frivolous as unguarded indulgence.
Though the idea may sound outrageous, you will only bless your stars when your partner tests positive for any of the STDs. If he does not, then that’s a good news and you have all the reason to look forward to a happily married life.
