Search on Google and you'll get thousands of results suggesting when and how a woman must conceive. The most common question on the internet about pregnancy is about the right age for a woman to conceive. But contrary to what's said and written, a woman must conceive only when she is ready and not when society or her family wants her to get pregnant. Proving the same, TV actresses like Anita Hassanandani and Kishwer Merchantt have set an example that it is a woman's call on when and how she wants to embrace motherhood. It was in March 2021 when Kishwer had announced her pregnancy with Suyyash Rai, revealing that her due date is in August.

To announce that they're expecting their first child, Kishwer Merchantt and Suyyash Rai had posted a romantic picture from the beach, in which he could be seen sitting on his knees holding his wife as she cradled her baby bump. With 'August 2021' engraved on the sand and a pair of baby shoes placed near it, the sunset made the picture even more breathtaking. While Kishwer had captioned her post as "You can now stop asking, 'When are you guys gonna have a baby?' Coming soon ... #august2021 #sukishkababy", Suyyash had taken the filmy route and captioned the picture as "Mai tere bacche ka baap banne wala hun, Kishwer! Coming this August."
Motherhood is a blissful phase that every couple cherishes to the core and for an actress, the one question she is asked the most after she announces her pregnancy is if she'll continue to work after the baby arrives or not. When Kishwer Merchantt, in an interview with ETimes TV, was asked about her plans to resume work post embracing motherhood, she retorted, "About a year. I have good help at home. So, if the role is really exciting, then maybe earlier. Let's see how it goes." Since Kishwer conceived at the age of 40, she revealed that her mother once told her to get her eggs frozen. Kishwer recalled, "Well my mother was after me to have a baby, and just a week before I conceived, told me that I should freeze my eggs."
Revealing how has been the pregnancy journey so far, Kishwer Merchantt said, "I am feeling lovely and happy but I am nervous at the same time. It's a mixed bag of emotions. We were surprised when I conceived because we hadn't planned the baby. Actually, I was feeling a bit low on energy since a few days. I went up to Suyyash (Rai, husband) and told him that I think there is some 'gadbad' and we should probably do the pregnancy test. He looked at me and said: Are you sure? I said: Yeah, let's do it, 'pata toh chal jayega!' The first reaction after I tested positive on both our faces was 'What!'. But overnight, we just got prepared as if we had been trying to be parents."

Speaking of how too much was happening with her family and husband, Suyyash Rai testing positive for COVID-19 which was followed by stringent precautions for her, Kishwer Merchantt continued, "A few days later, I developed thyroid and mood swings, followed by my mother getting hospitalised as she'd contracted COVID. Suyyash is a big support and he's made it easy. But then, he too got COVID. My Dad also got COVID. This in turn led to me having to take the most stringent precautions. Anyway, now we are fine. But yes, too much was happening." Revealing how her journey with Suyyash has been till now, Kishwer remarked, "We have had our ups and downs but we are going very fine with each other. We love each other a lot but at the same time, we give each other the required space. We don't get too clingy."
Kishwer Merchantt and Suyyash Rai's Eid 2021 was a celebration with a beautiful combination of blue and pink. Sharing pictures from the Eid special photoshoot, Kishwer had written, "The combination for this Eid had to be pink and blue. Eid Mubarak everyone. Eid Mubarak. May Allah grant shifa to all. Prayers for suffering to end, for strength to bear losses. To Peace, Happiness, Health and Healing in the year ahead. Please stay at home as you celebrate. #EidUlFitr #EidMubarak."
