During a recent SKIMS event in Shanghai, a fan asked for an autograph on a red crocodile Hermès Birkin. The SKIMS co-founder was meeting fans during NikeSKIMS launch events in Shanghai when the owner asked her to autograph the handbag itself. After hearing the request, Kim said, 'This feels illegal’.
Before taking a metallic gold pen, Kim looked unsure about the fan’s request and even checked whether the owner wanted her to sign on the bag itself. But when the fan reassured her and asked her to sign 'in the middle', she said, ‘Oh my God. This feels blasphemous’. The exact price of the bag was not revealed, but it was estimated at around USD 45K.
As soon as the video of Kim’s autograph circulated, many people reacted and even questioned whether her autograph added value to the bag. Others treated the autograph as an additional feature that could distinguish this bag from similar examples on the resale market. One user wrote, “Imagine if it's a fake Birkin and he ends up selling it for thousands just because Kim's signature is on it.”

In one photo, the duo passionately kissed as they sailed along the Seine.
