According to the reports, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the actor was arrested in Los Angeles after a physical altercation with a ride-share driver. The news came as a shock to the fans, immediately creating waves online.

In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, the Los Angeles Police Department further confirmed that they responded to a call about an assault involving a ride-share driver near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue at around 12:15 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, (ET). The police officers shared that the suspect entered a ride-share vehicle, assaulted the driver and made criminal threats toward them. The police also shared that neither person involved sustained injuries.

Kiefer Sutherland was released from jail on a USD 50,000 bond

According to reports, Kiefer Sutherland was later identified as the suspect and was arrested at the scene for making criminal threats, in violation of California Penal Code section 422. The Los Angeles Police Department acknowledged the incident and confirmed that the matter was still an ongoing investigation. NBC News further reported that the Lost Boys actor was released from jail on a USD 50,000 bond on Monday, January 12, 2026 (ET). His first court date is set for February 2, 2026. There have been no comments from Kiefer Sutherland on the incident so far.
