Kiara Advani Reveals How She Filmed Emotional Scenes While Being Pregnant, 'Mama Is Only Acting...'

Kiara Advani is over the moon after embracing motherhood. She and her actor husband, Sidharth Malhotra, became proud parents to a baby girl on July 15, 2025. In November, the couple announced the name of their little angel as ‘Saraayah Malhotra’. It's not even a year, and Kiara has already started to work.

Kiara Advani reveals motherhood has made her more ambitious

In an interview with Vogue India, Kiara Advani revealed how she always wanted to be a working mom. Motherhood didn’t stop her ambition as she took her calls while feeding her daughter. She would listen to narrations when her baby was sleeping. Revealing how motherhood made her more focused and ambitious, Kiara said:

“I’ve never been more ambitious. Motherhood expands you. The fire within you becomes more focused.”

Many believe that whatever emotions a mother feels are often felt by the baby inside her. During her pregnancy, Kiara worked till seven months. For the emotional scenes, Kiara would sneak out to the bathroom and do a cute ritual to ease the scene's emotional intensity, keeping her child calm. Talking about the ritual, Kiara said, she would place her hand on her stomach and whisper:

“Mama is only acting, okay? This isn’t real.”

Kiara Advani recounts the precious moments she spends with her baby

For Kiara, her moments with Saraayah have become her priority. Workwise, she is very conscious about the work she chooses. The events that were once mandatory for her have taken a backseat as she feels her time with her daughter is more precious. In her words:

“When I’m with Saraayah, I’m really with her. When I bathe her, I notice everything—her eyelashes, her tiny fingers, her giggles. These micro-moments feel so precious.”

Speaking with journalist, Barkha Dutt at the 'We The Women' event, Sidharth shared sweet memories with his little daughter. The new dad highlighted that he has 'never lost so many arguments to somebody who can’t speak.' In the same event, Sidharth Malhotra opened up about the changes brought to life by the birth of his daughter, Saraayah. He shared that life has been 'amazing' since his little daughter’s birth. Sidharth said he was 'no longer the hero of the house'. He shared that Saraayah is 4 months old and called her the 'superstar'.
