Ketan Agarwal Case, Accused Siya Goyal's Reluctance To Get Married Emerges As A Motive

Businessman Ketan Agarwal’s death on June 18, 2025, has recently witnessed multiple new developments. A resident of Pune, Ketan Agarwal died after falling at Lohagad Fort. Notably, his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her lover, Chetan Chaudhary, were taken into custody after the police claimed that the duo allegedly planned the fall. Ketan and Siya were supposed to tie the knot in late 2026.

Meanwhile, a new claim related to Siya Goyal is now creating headlines. It is linked to her upcoming marriage to Ketan Agarwal. Keep reading to know more!

Siya Goyal allegedly had a motive behind murdering Ketan Agarwal

As mentioned, Siya Goyal and Ketan Agarwal’s marriage was scheduled for late 2026. Notably, Siya’s first meeting with her lover, Chetan Chaudhary, dates back to Diwali 2025. The duo was reportedly in touch with each other for a few months. The police now believe that Siya did not want to get married to Ketan and considered him an obstacle in her relationship with Chetan. The police also have a doubt that Siya was possibly pressured by her family to tie the knot with Chetan. While speaking in a recent interview, a senior police officer addressed the same by saying:

“The accused was apparently not mentally prepared for marriage and was under pressure from her family to accept the proposal.”

The evidence in the case, along with the questioning of the accused, is now allegedly pointing to the fact that Siya and Chetan’s relationship slowly started growing, leading to a plan of getting rid of Ketan. The investigation has also revealed that Siya needed some time to rethink her marriage decision. 

Ketan Agarwal’s father claimed that his son had previously escaped at the same place where he died

While the new claims related to Siya Goyal’s motive are trending everywhere, investigators are trying to find if a similar attempt was made previously to kill Ketan Agarwal. The police also claimed that Siya and Ketan had visited Lohagad Fort on June 14, 2026. Notably, Ketan’s father, Vishal, opened up on the same, claiming that his son managed to escape in the same place a few days before his death. He said:

“He managed to save himself by holding on to nearby bushes. When Ketan realised he had been pushed, Siya raised a false alarm about a snake and claimed she had pushed him only to protect him. Looking back, I believe there was an attempt to kill Ketan even on June 14.”

A police officer said in an interview that they are investigating whether the circumstances leading to the incident were part of executing a bigger plan. The police said that they are verifying everything with the help of technical and forensic evidence. The investigation also aims to find if Siya thought about killing Ketan when they visited Lohagad Fort a few months ago, in March 2026.

Ketan Agarwal was reportedly pushed into a gorge that was almost 400 feet deep. The police claimed that Siya and her lover planned everything by meeting at a café before the incident. The ongoing investigation unveiled a lot of other facts, including that Chetan came to Lohagad Fort first, which was followed by Ketan and Siya’s entry into the same place. Chetan reportedly followed the duo to an isolated location, where Ketan was pushed.
