The authorities have charged him with molesting a 9-year-old girl who is now 14 years old. Coming to his personal life, Joseph is married to Kendra Duggar. Reportedly, the couple shares four children. Amid this, Kendra’s emotional phone call to Joseph went viral while he was in jail.

An emotional phone conversation between Kendra Duggar and Joseph Duggar while he was in jail has recently surfaced online. During the conversation, Kendra broke down in tears and told Joseph not to trust anyone except his lawyer, Travis Story. She alerted him about a man named Greg. Kendra was feeling overwhelmed as she was trying hard to figure out how to take care of their children and support Joseph at the same time. In other phone calls, Kendra and Joseph also discussed about managing finances as the latter’s future remains unclear.

On March 31, 2026, Joseph was released from the Bay County Jail on a USD 600,000 bond. Currently, Joseph is out on pre-trial release. However, during this phase, the 19 Kids and Counting star has some major restrictions. According to the latest reports, the judge has ordered Joseph to have no unsupervised contact with any minors under 18. This also includes his own children and two of his 18 siblings.

Not only Joseph, but Kendra also faced charges, including child endangerment and false imprisonment, following which she was also arrested. However, she was released hours later after she paid a USD 1,470 bond. Amid the legal fiasco, Joseph’s family has urged his wife, Kendra, to part ways. Joseph’s aunt, Deanna Duggar, told Page Six that she felt like Kendra should divorce him amid the legal complications due to the molestation case. Deanna was quoted as saying:

"The way I feel about it is, I think Kendra should divorce him. She needs a new life. The best thing to do would be to divorce him and go on with her life. I don’t know what the charges are going to be for Kendra. I don’t know, we’re all waiting to see. While my heart goes out to her, I know there has been some wrong decisions. My prayers are for the victims. For Kendra, for Joseph, for the whole family, wake up and repent of their pride, their feeling of the world is against them, get things right in their family."

According to a report by People, on March 22, 2026, Kendra and Joseph had a phone conversation while he was in jail custody. During the conversation, when the 19 Kids and Counting fame asked her how their children were doing amid their parents' legal battles, she sobbed and told him that she no longer has four children. On March 20, 2026, Kendra was with her children. In another call, Kendra told Joseph that her children are her number one priority. She was quoted as saying:

"I'm fighting for the kids, and they're my number one priority right now. I just want you to know, through all of this, whatever happens, that's who's coming first. Then we'll just see where the rest of it leads us and try to put the pieces together."
