In the movie, Julia Roberts' character went to a boutique, and a salesperson refused to show her more expensive items, which led her to come back wearing nicer clothes and with a lot of shopping bags in her hand.
Julia's character told the salesperson that she made a 'huge mistake'. And Kelly Clarkson is doing the same in real life. She recently experienced something similar when she went for a shopping spree in a Brooklyn store. Here's what happened next!
Kelly Clarkson blasts a Brooklyn store on social media for being looked at as someone who can't afford stuff
Kelly Clarkson moved to New York in 2023, and she keeps her personal life private; however, she doesn't step away from sharing her experiences on social media. And she did the same recently, as she visited a store in Brooklyn. According to the singer, she drove to Brooklyn to buy what she had in mind.
However, her experience was not good. Kelly was looked at as someone who possibly wouldn't be able to afford it. According to the singer, she was told that the salesperson could find something comparable to her. Kelly blasted The Art Of Play on social media, saying they lost a 'huge sale'. Kelly Clarkson wrote:
"Just drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad and had a few things in mind to buy and literally was looked at as if I couldn’t afford it and was told he could find something comparable for me. Wow, dude. You’re an idiot and just lost a huge sale. If you enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts’ character in Pretty Woman, for sure, check it out."
Kelly Clarkson's career: She once joked about not being as rich as Taylor Swift
Kelly Clarkson is one of the most versatile vocalists of her time. The singer kickstarted her career by winning season 1 of American Idol in 2002. Since then, there has been no looking back for the singer. She won three Grammys, several Emmy Awards, and earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Kelly's career spanned multiple decades, and over the years, she also transitioned into several other niches, such as talk show hosting. Her show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, grabbed significant attention. She recently decided to leave the show, a decision that was not easy; however, she is now focused on taking care of her kids following the death of their father, Brandon Blackstock.
Kelly Clarkson has an estimated net worth of USD 50 million. It was only a few months ago that the singer made a joke about not being as rich as Taylor Swift. Kelly, who is known for her comic timing, answered a fan's question when asked whether she likes to do a live show or a studio show. Kelly replied that both are very different, but she likes to bring that kind of vibe everywhere.
According to the singer, when someone is touring and traveling, they surely can't bring as many musicians, 'unless you're Taylor Swift.' She went on to add that when someone is not like Taylor and is balling on a budget, they get creative instead. With a humbled smile on her face, Kelly said:
"But when you’re not her, when you’re ballin’ on a budget, you get something cool like this."
