Wife Of NBA Fan Who Was Booted From Lakers-Kings Game Reacted To The Incident, 'He Meant No Harm'

For the last three days, an NBA fan has been going viral, and the reason is that he was kicked out of his courtside seat at the Los Angeles Lakers-Sacramento Kings game. While everyone wondered what he did to be ousted from the game, his wife has finally come forward to break the silence. It so happened that, during the 3rd quarter of the game, which was being played between the Lakers and the Kings, the ball landed in the fan Duncan's hands.

He, using his 'muscle memory', tossed a firm chest pass back to the referee, Chelisa Painter. Lakers star Luka Doncic showed his frustration, and the fan held his hands up to signal he meant no harm. However, the officials intervened, and Duncan was removed from the NBA game. 

Now that the fan named Duncan is going viral, his wife has taken to her social media and reacted to the incident. The viral NBA fan, Duncan, is the husband of 3-time Emmy Award winner and former news reporter, Kellie DeMarco.

On her social media, Kellie said the NBA fan is her husband and that their date night went viral. She clarified that her husband meant no harm, adding that he had played basketball for several years and that muscle memory led him to toss the chest pass back to the referee.

She also joked that she had spent two decades in media, but it's her husband now who's getting more screen time. She further stated that her husband meant no harm to anyone, and he feels terrible about the way things turned out. Kellie, in her note, mentioned:

"Yes, this is my sweet husband, and yes, he’s the guy who got ejected from an NBA game. I spent nearly 20 years in TV news, and he’s getting more airtime than me! He played basketball for years, and apparently the chest pass muscle memory never left. He meant no harm, he feels terrible that it came across the wrong way, and he has nothing but respect for the officials. Thank you for all the kind messages. We love the Kings and this community. And no, he is not Steve Kerr, I’ve read the comments."

The video of Duncan being kicked out of his seat made rounds on social media, and people have been reacting to it for the last three days, leading the incident to get more and more attention.

Duncan and Kellie got married in 2024 at Anantara Convento in Amalfi, after eight years of togetherness, and it's her second chance at love. In a post on IG, Kellie detailed how Duncan supported her and also considered her daughter from her previous relationship as his own.
