It was on April 1, 2019, when Kartik Aaryan’s sister, Kritika Tiwari had graduated from the medical college with an MBBS degree. It was double celebrations for the family as it was Kritika’s birthday too. Sharing a just-graduated picture of Kritika with her degree in her hand, Kartik penned down a ‘so so proud’ note and a birthday wish for his sister. His caption could be read as “Wish you a very Happy Birthday 'Doctor' Kittu and its a double celebration for us in the family as you hold your MBBS degree today Mummy-Papa ka sapna poora hua... main na sahi, tum toh Doctor bani @dr.kiki_ So so proud of you and sorry my little sister for not being able to be with you on your special day... Love you a lot.”
After partying hard with B-town biggies at the grand Diwali bashes, Kartik Aaryan took some time off for Bhai Dooj and had an intimate celebration with his sister, Kritika Tiwari. Sharing pictures from the celebrations, wherein the brother-sister duo could be seen twinning in white and blue casuals, Kartik wrote, “My Sister has the best brother in the world. She always says this...not me @dr.kiki_ Bhai Dooj Mubarak.”
On November 22, 2018, when Kartik Aaryan had turned 28, his sister, Kritika Tiwari had penned down a ‘foody’ birthday wish for him. Wishing her ‘Koki’, Kritika had written, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOKI!! I love you and I miss being home today. I remember how every year on your birthday we went to the same restaurant and ordered the same food that you liked. So here's a very happy 'Kadhai paneer-dal makhni-butter nan-jeera rice-pineapple raita day' to you!! On Raksha Bandhan 2018, Kritika Tiwari had posted lovely pictures on her Instagram handle with her darling brother, Kartik Aaryan. Along with it, she had written, “Dear Koki, as much as I love writing and sending you Rakhi letters nothing beats our "Ghar wali Rakhi" Thank you for making it happen this year. How you made sure to annoy me and then to make me smile. I love you Bhaiya and I miss having you around all the time. Always be happy and keep giving your little sister reasons to be proud :) #merahero.”
In an interview with DNA, Kartik Aaryan had expressed how he misses celebrating festivals back in his hometown, Gwalior. When asked how Raksha Bandhan celebrations have changed over the years, Kartik had replied, “Yes. Earlier we used to live in Gwalior, so, it was celebrated together. It was more fun then because we used to start preparing for it from weeks before the day. My sister would make sure that she bought me the most attractive rakhi, and I used to save coins in my piggy bank for her gifts. Now, we live in different cities. She’s studying in Bhopal, and I’m usually out for shoots. So, she sends me rakhi and a letter every year and, trust me, this is the most special thing I wait for the entire year.” Revealing that he misses celebrating festival with his sister, Kartik had continued, “Yes, I do miss it because bachpan ki yaadein best hoti hain. Back then, it was filled with more fun and shaitaani. I wish we could go back in time.”
Speaking about the bond with his sister, Kritika Tiwari, Kartik Aaryan had remarked, “Now, we are more like best friends. Whenever I have doubts or I’m in trouble, I only talk to her. And though she is younger to me, I wonder how she knows so much more about life and relationships. She is like my friend, philosopher and guide.
