Kareena Kapoor Khan Reveals What She Learnt From Her First Pregnancy, Says She Won't Repeat It

Kareena Kapoor Khan carries her pregnant self with utter grace and style. In her second pregnancy as well, she's raising the bar of fashion, style and professionalism as she's completing her work commitments despite being five-months pregnant. As per Pinkvilla, in a conversation with a national daily, Kareena Kapoor Khan talked about the lessons she learned from her first pregnancy with Taimur. Kareena admitted to realising that she must eat only for herself and not for two people, as is widely professed. She also revealed that following the same, she had gained 25 kilos during her first pregnancy with Taimur. Scroll down to know it all!

She said, "Women have a lot of cravings when they are pregnant, but I realised that I must eat for myself as opposed to eating for two." Kareena also emphasised on the need to stick to the basics like grains and vegetables for nutrition. She also revealed her fitness regimen amid pregnancy and admits following her routine on a regular basis.

Kareena mentioned that she swears by ghee and adds it to her every meal and that she ensures to eat curd once a day. Talking about her diet, she said, "I consume simple Indian food and have been a vegetarian for a major part of my life. [Even today] I can keep from consuming meat for long periods of time. Excess of anything can have ill-effects. But depriving yourself is also not required. Striking the right balance, and sticking to the right proportion is the trick." Kareena also added that she has great friends like Amrita Arora and Malaika Arora, who inspire her to stay fit. She said, "This is great, because we keep each other driven, and egg one another on to follow the routine together. We have our group workout sessions often, and that is fun." Earlier, in an interview with Anupama Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan had opened up on her second pregnancy. She had shared that she wants to stay healthy in her second pregnancy, "Last time, I just took myself for granted and became huge. I put on 25 Kgs. I don't want to do that. I just want to be healthy and fit. I think the first time, it's just excitement. Everyone's like parathe khao, ghee khao, doodh piyo, besan ka laddoos are coming. And now, I'm like listen I have done it before, I know what my body requires. My doctor's like 'listen you are not eating for two, that is just a myth. Just be healthy and be safe.' And that is what I am trying to do."

Kareena Kapoor Khan's dietician, Rujuta Diwekar had earlier laid out the actress' diet chart for her pregnancy in her IG post. Posting a picture of Kareena from June 2020, Rujuta had written, "The good news is that you don’t have to deprive yourself of good food to look good. Sustainable diets keep you sexy and sane. This is exactly what @kareenakapoorkhan was eating and working out around late May - mid June when she shot for the #filmfare cover. Meal One - Soaked badams / Banana 9-10ish workout (details below)Meal Two -Dahi rice & papad OR roti paneer sabzi & dal 12ish. Meal Three -small bowl of papaya OR handful of peanuts OR piece of cheese OR some makhana 2-3 ish. Meal Four - Mango milkshake OR bowl of litchi OR some chivda 5-6 ish. Meal Five - Veg pulao & raita OR. Palak or pudina roti with boondi raita OR. Dal rice & sabzi 8ish. Bedtime - Haldi milk with little nutmeg.
