Netflix’s film, The Archies, premiere night was indeed a star-studded affair. The Bollywood biggies attended the event on December 5, 2023, in their best fits, exuding a million-dollar charm. For the unversed, the film’s star cast includes Gen Z actors and actresses such as Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, Vedang Raina, and more. The Bachchans, Khans, Kapoors, and others were seen on the glamorous red carpet of the film’s premiere to support the upcoming generation of stars.
Among the stars, the filmmaker, Karan Johar, graced the carpet with his quirky sartorial choice. He paired a Valentino's polka-dotted double-breasted blazer with black pants. He complemented his outfit with a pair of white boots and funky sunglasses. After watching the movie, Karan penned his heartfelt two cents about the film, The Archies, on his official Instagram account. He appreciated the impeccable craft of Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. Karan heaped praises on the ‘new kids on the block’ such as Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, and Khushi Kapoor, who made their Bollywood debut.

The Indian filmmaker, Karan Johar, also penned a cryptic note on his Instagram stories but later deleted it. The note can be read as, “Dearest fraternity, When an invite says FORMAL…..The hosts are not joking…you get that don’t you?” While KJo has already removed it from his account, a Reddit user took a screenshot of it and shared it on the discussion platform.
Netizens have already donned their investigative hats to find out who Karan Johar pointed out with this note. Some speculated it could have been Hrithik Roshan’s casual black shirt and striped pants, others pointed fingers at the actress, Shilpa Shetty. However, netizens also called out KJo’s polka-dotted blazers and are seen asking how his look qualifies as ‘formal’. A user commented, "Half the guests then. Shilpa was in a clubbing outfit. Though I don't get the men who broke the code. All they had to do was put on one of the million different suits they have." Another one wrote, "He must be talking about himself.
