Television actor, Kanan Malhotra is leading the headlines as the Radhakrishn actor recently got divorced. Kanan had an arranged marriage in 2014 with a Delhi-based girl, Aakanksha Dhingra and the couple was reportedly separated after five years. After their split, Kanan and Aakanksha were granted divorce in May 2023.
In an interview with the Times of India, Kanan opened up about his divorce and stated that things were not working between him and Akanksha and they decided to part ways. In his words:
“Things were not working out between us. There were a few problems – no fights but we weren’t on the same wavelength. We decided to part ways and move on, instead of stretching a relationship that was not working. Divorce toh abhi three-four months back hua hai.”

In the same interview, Kanan revealed why he chose not to speak about his separation earlier as he was very disturbed. Revealing how he slipped into depression, the actor shared:
“I was very disturbed by the thing. No one marries because they want to get divorced. Marriage is a personal thing, and nobody does it to part ways. I was very disturbed and was in depression for a few months.”
Kanan chose not to divulge details of his split and revealed that it was a mutual decision and their parents too respected their decision. The actor also revealed that he and his estranged wife, Aakanksha are cordial with each other and he to has moved on in life and is focused on his work.

Kanan was previously in a serious relationship with actress, Chahat Khanna. The couple dated for two years before calling it quits. Chahatt Khanna and Kanan Malhotra had met at the mock shoot of Apno Ke Liye Geeta Ka Dharamyudh and fell in love. Later in 2012, Chahatt and Kanan had parted ways. Post his split with Chahatt, Kanan had found love in his Rab Se Sohna Isshq co-star, Ekta Kaul. But Kanan and Ekta’s relationship also had a fallout in 2013.
Kanan Malhotra made his television debut with the show, Chand Chupa Badal Mein in 2010. He was later seen in shows like Rab Se Sohna Isshq, Suryaputra Karn, Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush, Navrangi Re, Devi Adi Parashakti, RadhaKrishn and many more.
On the professional front, Kanan was last seen in the show, Ishq Ki Dastaan-Naagmani!
