On February 1, 2020, Kamya's girl tribe had hosted a surprise bachelorette party for her. The actress had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared happy pictures from her bash. Along with it, she had written, "Thank you my lovelies for the wonderful surprise. Thank you for making me feel so special. Yes, yes Meri Shaadi hai." In the pictures, the actress was looking gorgeous as she radiated her bridal glow in a maroon skirt teamed with a black strappy blouse. She had accessorised her look with a choker neckpiece and a nath.
On February 5, 2020, Kamya took to her Instagram handle and shared a picture from the first pre-wedding function of her wedding i.e. Mata Ki Chowki. The actress opted for a rani pink saree with orange border and teamed it with a contrasting orange blouse. Her look was completed with a choker neckpiece and matching jhumkis. Along with the picture, Kamya wrote, "And the celebration of #ShubhMangalKasha begins. Jai Mata Di #matakichowki @shalabhdang".
A couple of weeks ago, Kamya had shared a long note for her fiance, Shalabh. She had reminisced the day they had first talked on a call and had written, "Last year, this day I spoke to u for the first time n today I m preparing for my marriage with you... Last year this day I was broken, I was lonely.. u picked up the pieces n made me the happy person that I m today... I m so lucky to have someone like you in my life who's only motive is to make me smile n happy. you are my life, you are my good karma, you are my Gannu's best gift to me. Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for loving me so much. Thank you for this beautiful one year... looking forward to a lifetime with you. I love you @shalabhdang." In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Kamya had revealed that she is head-over-heels in love with Shalabh and life is different with him. She had further shared that she has understood the meaning of blushing and glowing in love and is looking forward to spending her entire life with him. Kamya had also shared that there have been times when people have wondered what made Shalabh accept her and her daughter. She had said, "When people tell me ‘oh, he (Shalabh) is ready to accept you, that’s so nice’, I feel like ‘excuse me, what do you mean by ready to accept?’ Just because I’m divorced and a single parent, does that mean I lack something or I’m not good enough?"
In an interview with SpotboyE, Kamya had opened up on her relationship. She had shared the reason why she took time to say 'yes' to Shalabh and had said, "I was sure about Shalabh since the time he proposed to me but I wasn't sure if I wanted to take the responsibility of a marriage, kyunki main itni dari hui thi. So, I took some time but then finally said yes because I felt that if I am sure about him then this marriage will also be good and beautiful. And gradually, I accepted it and now I don't have any kind of hesitation. In fact, I am super excited to get married to him."
Kamya had further shared how they met and had stated, "I spoke to him over the phone first. I had wanted some medical advice. Some friend had given me his reference. Then, on Feb 1, he came to Bombay for some work and we had met then. It was not a personal meeting, it was work related. Soon, we started talking. He took the initiative. It just happened gradually as we began talking. I really liked certain qualities of Shalabh. He's been very caring and concerned for me. Obviously, we were friends in the beginning, but very soon, he proposed me for marriage."
