Considered as ‘the Vamp’ of the television, Kamya is one of the much-talked-about celebrities of the telly world. For Kamya Panjabi, her love life hasn’t been a bed full of roses and she had to go through a lot in her personal life. In 2003, Kamya had tied the knot with a businessman, Bunty Negi but within two years into their marital life, problems had started arising and they had even filed for a divorce in 2006. However, Kamya and Bunty had then decided to withdraw the divorce proceedings and gave their marriage a second chance. In 2006, Kamya and Bunty were blessed with a baby girl, whom they named, Aara. But things didn’t work out between them, and in 2013, Bunty and Kamya had finally gotten separated.
Looks like after multiple link-ups and heartbreaks, Kamya Panjabi has finally found her ‘the one’ and is all set to give marriage and love a second chance. Kamya is dating Delhi-based, Shalabh Dang, who works in the healthcare industry, and she opens up about her relationship for the first time. In a recent interview with the Bombay Times, Kamya revealed that she will be a married woman by next year, “I will be a married woman by this time next year (laughs!). I contacted Shalabh in February, after a friend told me to consult him about some health woes that I was facing. We got chatting and in a-month-and-a-half, he proposed marriage.”
Speaking about how giving marriage a second chance is a huge deal for her and what made her change her ‘shaadi ke khilaaf’ decision, Kamya Panjabi shared, “Tying the knot again was a huge deal for me and hence, I took my time to think about it. Following a failed marriage and a few heartbreaks, I had almost turned averse to the idea of tying the knot and falling in love. In fact, there came a point when main shaadi ke khilaaf ho gayi thi. But Shalabh has made me believe in love and the institution of marriage again. I am like a 16-year-old girl now, madly in love with him.”
Revealing what qualities of her does Shalabh Dang appreciates the most, Kamya Panjabi remarked, “Some men find it difficult to handle strong women, but that’s what Shalabh loves about me — my devil-may-care attitude and the fact that I don’t fear taking a stand. I am short-tempered and he is extremely patient with me. He has a calming effect on me. Shalabh also understands my work and responsibility towards my family. I have been the man of the house for years. He supports me and loves me for what I am. I want to spend the rest of my life with him. While Kamya Panjabi has a daughter, Aara from her first marriage with Bunty Negi, Shalabh Dang too, has a son, Ishaan from his ex-wife. Elaborating on the bonding between all four of them, Kamya stated, “I reach out to Shalabh when Aara gets stubborn because she listens to him. It’s such a relief to see them bond so well. I am also extremely fond of Ishaan and we get along like a house on fire.” While Kamya and Shalabh’s marriage is slated to take place next year, the lovebirds are planning a trip to Dubai next month, to celebrate Aara and Ishaan’s birthdays on October 6 and 9, respectively.
It was on August 13, 2019, when Kamya Panjabi had turned 40 and to mark the occasion, she had celebrated it with the people she loves the most. And her ‘special’ person made it extra-special for her with a lovely birthday wish on his Instagram handle. Shalabh had written, “Special Birthday wishes for someone who has impacted my life positively. Love your giving attitude and daring nature. Before Shalabh Dang, Kamya Panjabi was rumoured to be dating Bigg Boss 10 winner, Manveer Gurjar. In an interview, when Kamya was asked to comment on her relationship with Manveer, she had replied, “We are great friends and nothing else. While he was in the house, I supported him and appealed to my fans to vote for him. We met after he won Bigg Boss and formed a great rapport. From the time I got nominated for Gold Award, he has been constantly appealing for votes and got so many of his friends to vote for me. Thus, when I won, I thought of thanking him. He is really sweet and very special to me.”
Another link-up of Kamya Panjabi with Ye Hai Mohabbatein star, Karan Patel had made the headlines for quite a few years. Though Karan and Kamya had never admitted being in a relationship but their affair wasn’t a secret for anyone. If some reports are to be believed, the main reason behind their breakup was that Karan’s mother did not approve of Kamya as she was a divorcee and a single mother. But some reports also suggest that it was Karan’s infidelity that had become the main reason for their separation.
