The best moment in a girl’s life is when she gets a green signal on her pregnancy test. Kalki Koechlin, in an interview with Pinkvilla, opened up about her first reaction to her pregnancy test and about being a mother for the first time. Speaking about her first reaction, Kalki shared, “I was like this can't be right, it’s a mistake. We weren't planning for it right now, so I immediately went and got another test done. When I was absolutely sure, I was happy, but I wasn't sure at the beginning."
Embracing motherhood without entering into marital bliss is still considered an age-old stereotype and women are looked from a different angle altogether. Kalki Koechlin too faced such harsh comments when she had announced her pregnancy and trollers had made some nasty comments on her relationship. She was even asked, “where’s the husband?” Speaking on the similar lines, Kalki revealed that her close friends and family members are very supportive of her decision and said, “Whenever it comes to my building, my neighbours and the people around me, they all know I'm not married and they are super supportive. They are really very sweet."

Kalki has also been a victim of nasty comments on her personal as well professional life. In an interview with Miss Malini, Kalki Koechlin had revealed how she had first reacted when she had heard the news of her pregnancy, “I went and immediately bought another pregnancy test, just to make sure. But it was a very happy reaction. I think the last few years have been a situation where, I know I have wanted children, but I was also not been in. either the times weren’t right, or I wasn’t with the right person. Or whatever, there was something! So, all those things seemed to have come in place this time. Even though it wasn’t planned as we were thinking maybe in a year or two. But I think that’s the best thing about it. Now we are just diving right into it without too much pre-planning.”
Kalki Koechlin is in a long-distance relationship with Guy Hershberg. In an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Kalki had revealed whether Guy was happy when he heard the news of Kalki’s pregnancy and how their long-distance relationship had helped her evolve as a person. She had revealed, “Oh yes, and he was jumping with joy. It’s a process of gradual trust. Ironically, the distance helped us communicate a lot more since we don’t have the luxury of seeing each other every day.
