On Monday, February 9, 2026 (ET), the Dutch speedskater, Jutta Leerdam made history by breaking an Olympic record in her gold-medal-winning run. While the entire country was extremely proud of their sports star, it was her fiance, Jake Paul, who couldn't contain his emotions. The boxer was seen overjoyed over his fiancee's big win, as his eyes teared up when Jutta crossed the finishing line.

Jake Paul was on his feet in the stands supporting his fiancee, Jutta Leerdam. However, when she didn't just win but also set a record while bagging the gold, Jake could not contain his joy. The boxer was seen bawling his eyes out as Jutta not only lived up to expectations to win gold at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games, but also broke the 1,000-meter speed skating record with a time of 1:12.31.

The record previously held by teammate, Femke Kok. She had notched her time just moments before Jutta Leerdam's run. While the 27-year-old skater herself was brought to tears after seeing her final time, it was Jake Paul's reaction that left the internet in awe. He was in the stands looking extremely proud and in tears, surrounded by her family, who also couldn't help but cry tears of joy.

This impeccable win marks a significant milestone in Jutta Leerdam's career. Not only is it her first-ever gold medal at the Olympics, but it is also her second overall medal after winning silver in Beijing in 2022. Additionally, what makes it even more special is that Jutta broke the record after her surprising fall during the Dutch Olympic Trials, which forced her out of the race. There were talks that her spot at Milan Cortina was in doubt, but she made the Dutch team in the end.

Before Jutta Leerdam's record-breaking run, Kok raced to an impressive 1:12.59, which ultimately earned the Netherlands a silver medal. Kok is also expected to be in contention for the gold medal in the 500-meter race later in the Games. At the podium in the 1,000-meter sprint was Japan's Miho Takagi, who earned third place with a time of 1:13.95. As for the USA, Erin Jackson was in first place with a time of 1:15.00 at the start of the game. However, as the skaters kept going, she kept falling down the list. Brittany Bowe, Erin's teammate, just finished in fourth to miss out on a medal with a time of 1:14.55.
