According to a recent tweet by Exchange4Media journalist, Palki Sharma Upadhyay has stepped down as Managing Editor of Firstpost. It has marked the end of her tenure, where she essayed an important role in launching and anchoring its flagship show, Vantage. Palki had shaped the platform’s editorial direction and had contributed significantly towards building Firstpost’s global news presence and editorial team. Reportedly, she is leaving Firstpost to begin her own venture.

Santosh Menon is the chief content officer at Network18, and according to a Newslaundry report, Palki will be staying with Firstpost until March 2026. Santosh reportedly told Network18 staff that Binoy Prabhakar, former chief content officer at Hindustan Times, will take over as chief content officer at Firstpost. Rakesh Rai will be promoted to the managing editor position from the executive editor role of News18.com, according to the report. Palki Sharma reportedly addressed the Firstpost employees at the request of Santosh Menon and reflected on her three-year journey with the media outlet. She reportedly confirmed her plans of starting a new venture. Santosh, in a mail to the group's platform, had confirmed the report of Palki quitting and penned:

"It is with a heavy heart that I share an important leadership update at Firstpost. After a remarkable tenure as Managing Editor, Palki Sharma has decided to step down. During her time with Firstpost, Palki played a vital role in launching our prime-time show, Vantage, and contributed significantly to shaping its editorial tone. She anchored the show with clarity, insight, and an unwavering commitment to presenting global news through an Indian lens, earning widespread acclaim."

Santosh, speaking further about Palki, wrote that beyond her role on air, she had helped establish a strong editorial team and foster a culture of journalistic excellence. He thanked her for her contributions and wished her the best in her future entrepreneurial pursuits. However, it is interesting to note that Palki has not yet officially confirmed that she is quitting Firstpost. BollywoodShaadis could not verify the information independently.

Will Binoy Prabhakar take over Palki Sharma Upadhyay's role?

The earlier report stated that there was an internal announcement about Palki quitting Firstpost. She had strong hands in creating a global news presence with her work and contributed immensely to the editorial team.
