It was in 2000 that the multi-talented actor graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts with a high school diploma; in 2004, he earned his bachelor's degree from The Boston Conservatory with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre.
Soon, Josh transitioned into the theatre world and made his debut in 2008, starring in the York Theatre's musical adaptation of Enter Laughing, which brought him a Theatre World Award. The actor continued to work in Broadway and off-Broadway, and also became a professor and author. The actor's passing at the age of 44 has now left her fans heartbroken, who continued to ask what happened to him.

To mention, no official cause of Josh Grisetti's death has been revealed. However, his co-star from Something Rotten revealed that the actor committed suicide. Official confirmation of the cause of death of the actor is still awaited. In a post on social media, Josh's co-star dropped an emotional note about the actor, although it was not mentioned what pushed the actor to take the drastic step of taking his own life.
In the post, Josh's co-star revealed how he worked on set with Josh Grisetti as his brother, along with watching him inspire millions of students at his college. Sharing how he was the best man at Josh's wedding, Rob McClure penned:
"I’m not ready to even attempt to understand. My heart is with his wife and family as they try to deal with the reality of this. Some of my all-time favorite memories were by this man’s side, playing his brother onstage for years, watching him inspire students while transforming the Musical Theatre program at Cal State Fullerton …and having the honor of being the Best Man at his wedding."
The reason for Josh Grisetti's drastic step of taking his own life has not been revealed; however, speculations have been rife that the actor was going through some personal struggles. Actress Sierra Boggess also took to her social media handle and confirmed that Josh committed suicide. An excerpt from the statement could be read as:
"His students are so lucky they had him as their teacher. I loved the way he looked at the world and how he challenged ideals and norms. I loved his humor and his brain and deep deep philosophical conversations. Our It Should Have Been You family was as close as can be and this is so heartbreaking I will be processing with the show family and all of you for a very long time."
Josh Grisetti's personal life: He was married twice
Speaking of Josh Grisetti's personal life, he was married twice in his life. Reportedly, Josh Grisetti got married to Candice Ross in 2009, and it was in 2015 that the couple got divorced. Following this, Josh Grisetti got married to his 'best friend' Mackenzie Grisetti.
The couple got married in 2020, and they had been together until the actor passed away. His social media is filled with glimpses of his wife, which spoke volumes about their love story. While Josh was an educator and actor, his wife works as a realtor in SoCal. As of now, Josh's wife hasn't released any statement regarding his passing.
Apart from Broadway, Josh Grisetti was also seen in some TV series and films, including ABC sitcom The Knights of Prosperity, NBC's The Gates (2013) and Like Magic (2019). The actor was also seen in the final season of The Marvellous Mrs Maisel on Amazon Prime. His teaching career began in 2021 at Cal State Fullerton. Josh helped redesign the BFA in Musical Theatre, and following this, two years later, he achieved tenure at the University.
