Jonathan Melendez, better known as "Honas" to his fans, was one of the founding members of Camilo Septimo. It is a popular Mexican indie rock and synth-pop band, which began in 2023. He served as the group's keyboardist and synthesizer player, playing an important role in creating atmospheric sounds. They are an important part of albums such as Óleos, Navegantes, Ecos, and Jardín de las Almas.
Eventually, the band developed a strong following throughout Latin America and performed at major festivals. Beyond music, he was a dedicated husband and father preparing to welcome his third child with Ana Paula. Meanwhile, the duo kept their private life away from the media attention.

According to investigators, the victims were found dead in their residence in an upscale Bosque Esmeralda area of Atizapán. Among the victims, Jonathan's wife was reportedly four months pregnant. Meanwhile, his daughter was three years old, and their family nanny was 21. Witnesses described the crime scene as a 'disturbing sight' with multiple victims and gunshot wounds.
In fact, some victims' remains were found bound, and their dog was also dead. The initial findings suggest that the killings took place during the evening hours, and eventually, police arrived at the gruesome scene. The sole survivor in this whole tragedy is the couple's six-year-old son, who was reportedly found unharmed in the house. However, the authorities have not released many details about him except that he managed to avoid harm.
After the investigation began, Mexican authorities have already taken two suspects into custody. They believe that one of the suspects had a personal or professional connection with at least one of the victims, which made it possible for him to enter their home without any doubts. Still, the officers are examining whether there was a robbery or another motive behind the crime.
In fact, they had used the security footage and evidence from the crime scene to help find the suspects shortly after the crime occurred. Officials have not released a detailed account of the events leading up to the deaths, but prosecutors call the attack a targeted act of violence.
